The input on your windows is set too high, or the volume on your output device (turntable is too high) either way the signal is too strong.

set either or both lower.

I have the profile pro and did ALL the settings on the windows 7 control panel sound tabs, lowered the levels to 4 on the slider (like the manual recommends) and as soon as I press record, it somehow resets to 100 value on the slider and records with distortion. Don't know how to fix this. Seems like the EZ converter software is taking over the setting on the windows settings and ignoring them, or restoring them to that 100 value. any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

How do I fix wavy lines on Hauppauge Wintv hvr950q?

Are they wavy lines throughout the picture or are they just wavy on the side? Waving picture is usually caused by poor power supply filtering. Wavy lines throughout the picture are caused by interference. Try moving the device away from the computer with an extension USB cable it may be picking up interference from the surrounding electronic devices. It could also be defective.

BUSH MP3 MPK4312BUK does not charge up when inserted into USB drive

to get this device to charge it is more complex than just plugging it in.
when i first bought mine it wouldnt charge at all, the way i found to get it to charge while plugged into a usb powered device is to have it switched on, press the M key until it starts playing then hold the play/pause button until you only see the charge bar. then your mp3 player will charge correctly. if only the manual was even slightly relevant to the product...

Hi...
You'll need to take it to a Pro.
Where in the US are you ? I could suggest a repair shop maybe.
The trouble is either failed power supply capacitors and/ or a couple of power transistors gone bad in the trouble channel.

Distorted sound

Distorted sound on a MP3 player is usually caused by one of the following:

- Volume is set on to high
- Battery is going flat or does not hold enough chargeL: test by playing song while connected to an external PC power source/USB charger.
- Your Earphones/Headset has been damaged due to abuse (player songs too loud in general for an extended period) or too loud from another/PC source) - To test, try it on another music player or PC.
- Your unit is really faulty or you have a bad plug connection: to test, try jiggling the plug while listening to a song.

Loud distortion through phono inputs

Phono inputs are designed for turntables only. Any other device will provide too high a signal for that input to handle. The phono input has an extra amplification stage built in. The distortion is because of the high suignal level being supplied to the input. The only way to get this to work properly is to purchase an antenuator which will decrease the signal level to the phono level.

DISTORTION

1) if you are using the PC sound card to record this is where your hiss is coming from. you need to get a recording card that has low noise or some other recording USB input device to get CD quality recordings

OR

2) if you have to use your PC sound card check your PC volume level for line in, don't let it get high or it will distort. you will have to experiment with the MD4 levels and PC sound card level to find a good middle ground with low hiss and no distortion
and a singer that sings away from the mic to reduce distortion.

hope this helps
thanks for your rating
