My dell inspiron 1545 cannot connect to internet as it says i have no network adapters installed. How do i do this

Hi Anon
Your laptop should come with an Ethernet connection as well as wireless connections, try making a wired connection via your Ethernet port, these are usually more reliable than wireless connections.
When I have experienced these sort of problems it is usually because of a missing driver.
Check that you have the proper drivers for your internet connections installed, these should come on a disk that is supplied with your laptop.
Finally check this link for Microsoft's official network trouble shooter.

Either that or the ethernet chip on the motherboard is failing - you will need to disable this one from the BIOS and install a simple PCI LAN card in its place

Our laptop won't connect to our network set up on our desktop home computer. The desktop is running Windows XP Home Edition V2002, and the laptop is running Windows Vista Home Premium V2006. When we try to...

if you have wireless acces point or 802.11 known as wi-fi,
there might be a problem in your laptop internet protocol, you laptop have an ip address already.
you can fix it by using your desktop, open your desktop go to control panel/network connection/status/
details.
copy the details information and put it to your laptop internet protocol. you can found it in network connection properties you can see Internet Protocol (tcp/ip) open it configure it manually. the last number of the ip address must bigger than the desktop. ex, 192.168.1.2 in desktop. the ip address of the laptop must be 192.168.1.3.

File sharing between computers

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help. Try the following:

On your laptop with Vista, click start, then network from the right side. This will take you to the Network Screen. Click on the Network and sharing screen. Click on options such as file sharing, printer sharing etc. Make sure that you can see each device your your network. If you can't you must go to each PC and use the network options on the XP machines. It's pretty simple, just follow the instructions that the wizard provides.

I hope this gets you up and running. Thanks for using Fixya.com

DNS error when connecting PS3 to internet

you could try getting a wifi adapter and creating an access point, you can connect that way if your ps3 has wifi I have a laptop with windows XP Pro and have been trying that my desktop PC with Vista Home can see it.
MY Components:
-Desktop PC with Vista Home (Main PC, connected to Internet with Ethernet to a Linksys Wireless Router B and G).
-Get internet thru cable TV (broadband),from this cable modem plugs to router and from router to PC Vista(desktop)
-Linksys Wireless G/B Router
-G-Card for my Laptop Windows XP Pro and
-Playstation 3 capable of sharing info and use printer

At the moment all of them have internet w different IP's (000.000.0.001, 000.000.0.002,etc.). What I want to achieve is that I can use the Printer that is connected via USB to my PC Vista (desktop) and share files. Right now the only thing been able to do is that my PC Vista see my Laptop but Can't find my PC on my laptop. Anybody, Help?
-When I turn On my media sharing in my PS3, my internet on Laptop loses it while PS3 search and find, then, because laptop lost wireless, the PS3 looses the laptop and I get wireless back. I knowis a stupid setting but tired of workin back n forth. Thanks
