Question about Cuisinart Thermal DGB-600 Grinder

Grinder basket removal

The grinder basket is increasingly more difficult to get out for cleaning purposes. I now have to use 2 sets of pliers. It still grinds well and I love the coffeemaker. Would some WD40 underneath the grind basket work or would it also find its way into my coffee beans? What is the best solution? I don't need to replace the coffeemaker.

Found this site with google of course. Have run into this same problem with our Cuisinart.DGB-600. It is a little over 1 year old. We have not used the grinder for around 6 months, but prior to that washed it out religously. So vinegar is the solution to this? How to apply the vinegar? Where to apply it? Need more details please!

Vinegar instead of WD40 - I am pretty sure a good portion of the DGB-600's have this problem, but that is hearsay.

My Kenmore Elite grinder and coffee brewer ground this morning, but then would not brew. Any ideas? The machine stayed on but never made another sound.

Try cleaning the chute from the grinder to the basket. Coffee oils build up and plug the chute. I clean mine every 3 - 4 days and have had no problems.

How do you change the blade? I bought a new one but can't get the old one off. Thanks

While the coffee is brewing without using the grinder feature, coffee overflows onto the counter. About 1/2 of the coffee goes into the pot while the rest spills over. I have cleaned residue from the lid...

overflow problem possible causes: 1) water is over the "10" marker, 2) no filter in basket 3) too much (or too fine) of coffee in the basket -- does not drain. Also make sure the "spring" on the bottom of the basket is not stuck (the one that lets you remove coffee carafe without dripping coffee.

I CANNOT REMOVE THE GRIND BASKET TO CLEAN IT.

I suffered with a stuck grider unti for a long time and just solved the problem..... Remove the filter basket and through the front door look up twords the back left. You can see where the grinder unit sits. There is a slot area where you can stick a screw driver under the grinder unit and pry it up. Do this in a jiggling motion and make sure you are well under the grinding unit, doing so on the edge of the grinder unit underneath will not give you enough suface to work with, in fact you will just bend or crack the edge. Looking in from low on the front (kneeling on floor with unit on counter, worked for me) will let you locate where the screw driver or smal pry tool needs to go. Mine was stuck for a very long time and No amount of pulling or prying from the top would work, I made it pop out in a matter of seconds using this technique from the bottom! Good luck, I'm going to finish my cup of coffee now! :-) Steve
a little cooking oil on the shaft before you insert the grinder will help, spray on pam works well and is easy to do...

Coffee grinder on brew and grind won't work

Make sure the slot between the grind basket and filter basket is clean and free of grounds - then inspect the area near the grinder motor - use the brush that came supplied with the Cuisinart to clean that area out. Once thoroughly cleaned, try one more time to Grind. Let me know if it works.
