Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Convergence board About two months ago my mother in law turned off my Mitsubishi VS-45609 45" projection television during a lightning storm. When we turned it back on the color in the screen was off. We have red lines and "ghosting" in the picture. My first thought was to check the menu for video settings but none of these fixed my problem. My husband called the manufacturer who said the convergence board was bad. I called the manufacturers parts line to order a new one and they do not have a listing for the part. She said the convergence unit may be on a board with other components in the television. I dont know anything about televisions. Please help me get my T.V. fixed we miss it terribly. I have a 42" Rear Projection Mitsubishi TV that works fine most of the time, however it will start ghosting with more red shadowing. I guess that this is a convergence problem? The problem is intermittent. Most of the time I can turn tv off and then back on and it will go away. Any suggestions

Mitsubishi 50605 Convergence Board - Replacement?

Replacing the whole board will fix it, but is a bit of overkill. If you can solder and feel comfortable working inside the set, you can fix this yourself. Let me know if you wish to attempt the repair and I'll proviode additional details and instructions.

Convergence board

It wouldn't be the entire convergence board, you more than likely have a bad convergence STK-IC. Replacing the IC will take a good bit of knowledge and training as far as electronic repair is concerned, plus a complete convergence set up. In other words, unless your certified, you need to contact a tech. The convergence set up alone has driven men to drink.....
