How do i reboot my computer to the way it was went window first made it?? erase everything!!

You didn't mention what windows you are using but if you have a backup (may be there when you bought it) then here are some quick links

vista:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/What-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-Vista

windows 7:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html

or just google "windows system recovery for more information"

Short of that, you would require a reformat/re-installation from disc which is a more complicated procedure.

If you plan on reformatting your PC you need the ff:
1. Operating System (Windows XP / VIsta or / 7 CD
2. Drivers (The CD that came with your computer)

Before you do this:
Save all your important files / documents on a USB Flash Disk. because reformatting a computer WILL DELETE all of the files

How to reformat my windows vista premium???because now my windows is corrupt and i need to reformat it...can anyone here help???

Dear Sir,

plzz folow this step.

tep 1
Back up all of your personal data and files. Store your backup on external media, such as an external hard drive, USB flash drive or CD/DVD.
  • Step 2 Insert your Windows Vista installation disk.
  • Step 3 Restart the computer.
  • Step 4 Re-configure your BIOS to boot from CD first if Windows Vista boots normally after inserting the installation disk and restarting. Find these settings in your BIOS "Boot" options.
  • Step 5 Press any key to enter the Windows Vista setup.
  • Step 6 Enter the license key, select your activation preferences and agree to the license agreement. Press "Next" after entering a value for each item.
  • Step 7 Choose a "Custom" installation.
  • Step 8 Click on your primary partition. This should be your "C:\" drive on Disk 0. Click "Next."

I had installed Home Vista before Ike and now the systems keeps telling me I have to upgrade my windows 2002? My case number was 1078167319

    Hi,

Prior to the windows vista installation, did you reformat your hard drive and clean out everything? I am not sure why you have that message, asking you to upgrade your windows 2002 if your system has windows vista already,

I suggest, if you keep on having this message. Try reformatting and reinstalling your vista again. But before you do it, make it sure that you passed all the system requirements since windows vista has higher specification than your old operating system.

    Keep me posted.

    Thanks

Had vista basic changed to xp want to go back to vista but dont know how

Boot to the Vista DVD, reformat the MAIN NTFS partition, install Vista to that partition. then load the drivers.

    Pretty simple process.

If course you'll need to backup any data you want to keep and reinstall all applications that are not native to Windows Vista

How to make Vista to recognize my old Hard drive

There are normally only two ways to get vista to recognise large drives and that is to format it within windows by way of right click my computer then click manage and then highlight your harddrive right click and select format. The other way is if your drive isnt being recognised because of the bios and needs updating, as most bios chips did when upgrading to vista.
