How to program a bc 145xl 16 channel scanning radio
I'am having a problem. I do not have codes for a uniden bearcat 145 xl 16 channel, can someone help me please?
I have a uniden bearcat scanner bc145xl how do I program it
Easy to do! I just bought one from a thrift store for $3.10... This scanner does not search, you need to know the local frequencies in your area. It has weather band or bank built in.
Here is how to do it..... Go to manual and every time you hit the manual button it will advance a channel. When you are on a channel program that channel with the frequency you want. ie: on channel #1 enter 146.520 like so... hit 1 then 4 then 6 then point then 5 then 2 then 0 then the "E" button and it is in! hit manual it will advance to channel 2 then do the same with a new frequency.
146.520 is a HAM frequency on two meter. Most police have gone to frequencies out of range of this scanner and are digital so are tough to get without special receivers.

I need to know how to program local police and fire and ambulance in and around the Salem area. I bought my scanner from a private owner who didn't have a book or the codes. I don't know where to look for help. My scanner is a Uniden Bearcat BC145xl 16 channel scanning radio. I would just like to know whats going on in my area. Can you help?
I just got my BC 145XL out, I have owned it for about 8-10 years but forgot how to program it. And could use some help, instead of just pushing buttons.
