How do i reset my laptop back to factory settings

The disc that you should have received with the laptop should give you this option. Just put it in and reboot and it will bring you to a menu with a few different recovery options to choose from.

Acer 5534 will not boot up....tried recovery disk....but nothing......error message PXE-E61-media test failure..........no bootable device

Hello:
Your Acer laptop is not detecting a bootable device, for sure your hard disk is:
1.- Malfunctioning and has lost its master boot record.
2.- It can be ruined and must be replaced.

In the first case, primary and recovery partition are bad, as you mention the recovery process failed (ctrl +F11). First, press F2 during POST, when "a enter Setup message" is prompted on the bottom of screen to check if the hard disk is listed on the Main BIOS properties. If detected, the hard disk can be recovered booting from DVD-ROM. In the BIOS setup utility, you need to select boot from de DVD-RW. Insert Windows 7 setup disk and it will check for possible boot errors, choose repair when prompted. Follow the instructions. The system will restart.
If the hard disk was not detected in BIOS properties, you should ask Acer for guarantee.

I hope this helps. Thanks

My acer will only boot to the Microsoft Windows loading page then it starts over. How can I reboot my acer without a disc?

Enable disk-to-disk recovery
On boot, press <F2> to enter BIOS. To enable disk-to-disk recovery (hard disk recovery), activate the BIOS utility, then select Main from the categories listed at the top of the screen. Find D2D Recovery at the bottom of the screen and use the <F5> and <F6> keys to set this value to Enabled. Save and reboot. While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to enter the recovery process. Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.

HOW CAN I RESTORE MY ACER TRAVELMATE 2200 without the original disk??????????????? NOW CAN U ANSWER THAT...ASAP

Hello !

Note: the recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software content that is installed when you purchase your notebook.

You can try ALT+F10 or CTRL+F10 during the initial boot cycle. This should prompt the laptop to access the recovery partition on the hard drive.

If it doesn't work :

Activate BIOS Setup Utility, press <F2> during POST.

Check the BIOS settings.

a Check to see if "Acer disc-to-disc" function is enabled or not.
b Make sure the [Acer D2D Recovery] setting in [Main] is
[Enabled].
c Exit the BIOS Setup Utility and save changes. The system will
reboot.

Hope this helps.

I just bought my Acer E725 laptop and not up to 3 weeks after, i put it on and it doesn't boot or it just shows the setup booting page for a long time without booting.

The operative system must be reinstalled. If you have the recovery CD set you can try doing a system recovery.
To reinstall the system start the laptop with recovery CD inside, and chose start from CD when asked.

Since the laptop is still on warranty you can also contact Acer at the number printed on the user manual.

Computer freezes when trying to detect S-Ata drive

Hi Eamon, download Samsungs drive setup utility, tools from Samsungs web site. Creat a bootable floppy drive setup disk or a CD bootable disk.
http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/utilities/ES_Tool.html
Enable the SMART function using the setup software.
If you are going to use the Samsung drive as the primary master drive as the new C:\ you will need to enter the bios & set the Hard Disk Boot Priority, page 30 in you're manual to see the Samsung drive.
Connect only the Samsung into the system. Boot the system & use Samsung's software to setup the drive & format.
Disconnect any other hard disk drives that may have windows installed in it.
