SOURCE: Wireless connection

I finally hit it. I tried dial up and LAN and same fault. Turned out that somehow, through our protection software, internet traffic was halted. Just needed to open it back up.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

You have a switch which is like a hub. You want a router, the router will assign IP addresses to each computer in your home. If you need to set up port forwarding then you do that within the router settings. For the most part newer routers have Universal plug and play which will handle the port forwarding for you.

SOURCE: Router not recognizing internet connection from cable modem.

No, you do not need a Hub. You also should not need to add the mac address. On the router, you need to enable DHCP so that your PC can get its IP address from your router. Then try your reboot again. Modem------------->Router----------------->PC. Wait about 1 minute between each device for them to sync up. Make sure that your PC IP settings are set on obtain IP address automatically under Control Panel----->Network Settings

We purchased the Intellinet 150N-4 Port Router a couple of months ago. It was working fine up until last Saturday afternoon. I called our IP and they re set our modem and we still couldn't get...

The router comes with a lifetime warranty however Intellinet does not offer phone support but rather a ticket submission system on their website. It also refers you back to the reseller to get technical assistance. Normally you can get free technical assistance from all 3 parties the manufacturer, Internet Provider, and the Re-seller. You may just want to return the item if you still can. Quite a few other brands offer free technical assistance Netgear, Linksys, D-Link, etc... Seems more like the device is the issue here. If you can exchange and get a new router, I'd be happy to walk you through setting up your new router as well.

I have a Intellinet wireless router thats previously worked fine for years. It stopped working so I'm checking the setting. It show WAN connection status as Not Connected. I had security off...MTU as...

ok if you are sure the problem is not connected to you PC then you should be able to access the router by putting in the IP address of your router into your browsers search bar and this will give you full stats and diagnostics which is very comprehensive you must know the password to log in , so maybe if as you say its been running for years and there would be no need to log in to your router but that would be the best way to find out how the health of your router is . Maybe your service provider will replace the router ? so they can continue billing you for your internet usage ? I am sure if you switched or threatened to switch they might just replace it with a new one .,as they are all fighting for people to use their service

How can i connect the router? i got a intellinet there is one wan and 4 ports are there.i have dialog broad band can i connect it?or iwant to install any software?

This is very easy to do and you should have no problems doing this. The first step to installing it connecting your router to your broad band router through the wan port. All you do it take your Ethernet cable that went from your broad band router to your computer and attach it to your new routers WAN port. next wile your new router is turned off, turn off your broad band router and then turn it back on wile it is booting up turn on your new router this is not always necessary but it will make sure that they sink together properly. And that's it your done just hook up all of your other computers to the remaining ports and they should work with out a problem.

PS. this is just the basics of setting up your router if it has wireless you may want to think about implementing some security measures such as encryption.

I hope this helped.

Thank you,

Got new router and new computer cant seem to be able to hook it up with the router up stairs and computer down stairs

Are you having a modem that connects to a router, then from that router to another router? Well, you can't have a router's WAN as another router's LAN. It just doesn't work that way, you will need a switch for that. Or you can connect all of the computers to one route.

If you are only using one router, then have you try pushing the reset button on the back of that router? Or maybe you need the LAN drivers for your computer? If they are brand new, you shouldn't experience any problems, so you should return it instead.

How do i secure my connection with an 523431 intellinet router. the manual is a bit vague

I presume that you are trying to connect wrelessly. You need to select the same type of security at both the router and the computer. WPA is the most secure so select that. It is easier to do the router setup using a wired connnection. Then disconnect the wired connection and then right click on the adaptor on the laptop and setup using the same configuartion etc.

New HP laptop will not connect to wireless secure network

Problem solved. I disabled the security on my network. I connected the new laptop to the unsecure network. I saved the settings on the laptop for the unsecure network. I rebooted the laptop. I re-enabled security on the router. I tried to connect to the network. I got an error on the laptop saying the network saved settings did not match. I modified the settings to a secure network on the laptop and saved the 128 bit key. Rebooted everything. All works fine now.
