Hi ,

I got your issue , WPA Security it denotes that , the network to which you are trying to connect has been protected with WPA security mode, inorder to prevent other people to connect to your internet.

Usually the router can be secured with 2 different security mode, They are

1. WEP(64 bit and 128 bit)
2. WPA

So your router is secured with WPA security

Hi here is the answer if you want to setup wpa/wpa2 security then follow the below seps

1. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN ports on the router.

2. Open a web browser on the computer.

3. In the address bar of the web browser, type

4. Click Login in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The router does not ship with a password, so just click Submit.

5. Click on Security in the left-hand column under the Wireless heading.

6. Use the drop-down menu and select "WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK)".

7. Select either WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, or WPA-PSK+WPA-PSK2 as your Authentication; doing this will set the Encryption Technique automatically.

8. Enter a word or group of characters in the password (PSK) box. The Pre-Shared Key must be 8 to 63 characters in length. Note: The PSK (Pre-Shared Key) is case-sensitive ("A" is different than "a").

a. Unchecking the Obscure PSK box will allow you to see the security key that has been typed.

9. Click the "Apply Changes" button to save the settings.

Any/all wireless computers that connect to this network will be required to have this Pre-Shared Key (password).

Iam setting xbox live and it ask for wpa key wots that

This is the encryption key for your wireless router, its to stop just any one from using your wifi, it should ask for a network name, then your wpa key, when you set the router up you should have written them down, if you did not set the router up, ask the person who did, the wpa key should be something like d7d6d67d3d. if you still can't find it message me I can tell you how to change this.
Remember thumbs up if this helps

My son can't connect to x box live, it keeps asking for the wpa key, what is this and where do I get it from?

Your WPA key is simply put, the password that protects your internet. (Wi-Fi Protected Access). I'm assuming you have a wireless internet and that is how your son is connecting to Xbox Live? (Unless he is mistakenly connecting to another wireless network other than your own.)
Someone in your household should know what the WPA key is, because it was the password set to protect your internet. (Most likely done so on a PC or laptop.)
So here are my suggestions:
1. Make sure your son is connecting to the right wirless network on his Xbox. You can do this by going to Settings --> System Settings --> Network Settings --> Configure Network --> Clicking A once you get to that Menu, and then scanning for Networks. Chances are you will get a few results. In order to connect to Xbox Live, you have to chose your wireless network.
2. If no one in your household knows the WPA key, I would suggest contacting who ever set up your internet, or another option would be to connect to Xbox Live directly, using the modem cable. (You would have gotten this when you originally bought the Xbox.) This can get pretty complicated however, so I would suggest trying to figure out the WPA key.

I hope I was of some help, feel free to contact me if you're still confused.

How do i find my wpa code on my wireless router so i can enter it to use x-box live

The WPA authentication key is a code that is set by the USER (which means you) or whoever set up your wireless network.

You can get the code by accessing the Wireless Administration tab on your router's web interface.

Please reference the corporation's website that manufactured your router for instructions on how to get into the web administration interface.

Cant find my wpa # needed to reconnect my router (TM-G5240) to my x-box live account

For routers, there no way to see what the WPA key is. Once you check the Web UI of the router and check the security, all you will see are asterisks (*********). Because WPA is a security and needs to be hidden. As the owner of the router, you should always remember what your WPA key is.

In order to resolve this issue, you need to reset the router back to factory default, set up a new WPA key and save it.

Or you may contact the manufacturer of the router and see if they have a record for your router

Have a great day!

Need a network key code for the live box.

Hey ehouse1,

What XBox Live is most likely requesting from you is your Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) key to access your wireless network. Without the WPA key, your XBox will be denied internet access by your router or residential gateway.

You may generally obtain your WPA key by accessing your router/gateway from a connected computer on your home network, and by visiting the default router address through your internet browser. Please note that this default address differs from model to model, but is typically one of the two following:

Additionally, you will most likely need to have your router's user name and password handy in order to access the hardware's menu settings. Once you have access, you should be able to find your WPA key under "Security Settings" or another similarly-named option.

If you are not comfortable doing any of this or are still unsure how to proceed, I would strongly suggest contacting your internet service provider (ISP) for further assistance. Most ISP's are able to provide over-the-phone technical support and walk-throughs for their customers free of charge. In some cases, they may even be able to provide in-home networking services to help set up your Xbox.

Hope this helps you out.

Go Ahead. Use Us.
