Question about Compaq Computers & Internet

1 Answer

When trying to power up my Compaq nx6325 laptop, I only see the power light flash four times and then nothing happens. I have tried a second power source with the same effect. Any ideas please?

Have you tried either power source with the battery removed from the system. The charge controller could possibly be bad telling it "empty" no matter what.

If it turns on without battery, seal the battery in a freezer bag with no moisture and as much air squeezed out as possible for about 4 hours. then try putting it in and see what happens (just make sure no moisture reaches the battery. Lithium explodes with water contact)

The biggest mistake people do is not sysle the battery. A laptop cannot be left on, and plugged in all the time like a desktop. Turn it off if not in use and when using run the battery all the way down every so often. U may have to buy a new battery, so keep these things in mind. Also, ventilation is very important. Though it is called a laptop, soft surfaces inhibatit the cooling systems ability to keep it cool. The more powerful the laptop the hotter it gets. Heat will shorten the life of all the devices of a laptop including the battery.
Good luck

Check the power cord at the connector. Hp has a problem with the cords breaking internally. I had a problem with mine and found that if I played with the cord then it worked for a while. I ended up buying a new power supply.

Compaq laptop won't turn on

Take out the battery completely and only hook up the adaptor and see if it turns on then. If it turns on then your battery is bad. If you try both adaptors and get the same flashing lights then the motherboard is bad.
