Network adapter

I tried to download network software and was prompted that there was no network adapter connected. This computer worked fine with wireless befre.

Apprentice1) The first step you can try by checking from device manager whether its showing the device over there or not. Just click on Start and type there "devmgmt.msc". Under network adapters or in other devices if you are able to see any device which state as network adapter it means its getting detected. If not!!!
2) Check by changing the slot of the adapter and insert it any other slot in your computer..
3) If it still doesnt work then if posibble can check this adapter with any other computer as well
