1) The first step you can try by checking from device manager whether its showing the device over there or not. Just click on Start and type there "devmgmt.msc". Under network adapters or in other devices if you are able to see any device which state as network adapter it means its getting detected. If not!!!
2) Check by changing the slot of the adapter and insert it any other slot in your computer..
3) If it still doesnt work then if posibble can check this adapter with any other computer as well

My computer crashed and i restored it. I cannot access the internet. I have a Belkin 802.11g wireless PCI Adapter and the software for the adapter is on my computer but I can't adjust any of the settings...

Please go to command promplt and type ipconfig. You should be getting an ip address as 192.168.1.x and Default Gateway 192.168.1.1 .
Try to ping 192.168.1.1 from your command prompt
If you are getting responce means you are connected to the Belkin wireless Router.
If not then try power cycling the Belkin router once.
If that also not working then you may have to go for a driver update.

Everytime I try to connect using the WUSB54GSC it

You need to Update the Drivers for your Wireless Adapter...Download the Drivers from here

After downloading the drivers you need to unzip the file...After you unzip the file you should un-install the adapter drivers/software from Programs menu...Leave the adapter connected to the PC and reboot your computer...Once the computer is rebooted you should see a message "Found new Hardware"...Select the option Install it from a specific location and click Next, then select Include this location in Search and browse to the place where you have unzipped all the files and select the Driver folder and click O.k...Then click Next and it should install the adapter drivers...

NOTE : This installation doesn't install the software(Linksys Monitor)...

Once the Adapter is installed, Click on the Start button >>> Control Panel >>> Network Connections- Right click on the "Wireless Network Connection" icon and select "View Available Wireless Networks"- If you see your wireless network in the list, highlight it by 'single' clicking on it- Now click on the 'Connect' button below- If your wireless network is secured, it would ask you to provide the network key- Provide the wireless network key and confirm it again in the confirmation box and click "Connect"...It should connect to your Network and Internet...

Cannot connect to wireless internet

go to run and type cmd. When a screen pops up type " ping www.google.com" , omiting these quotes and press enter. If you get something back which says things like ttl etc..then you have an internet connection..If you get a negative reply then you know you definitely have no connection.Try to reset your wireless connection and check if your firewall is stoping you..Also try on cmd prompt " ipconfig/all "..Check the results on google and maybe this could be helpful as well, on cmd prompt, type " ipconfig / iprenew" and press enter..Then when you are back at a blinking cursor then type " ipconfig / iprelease...Try these and if does not help then you should also consider rebooting the pc and restarting windows wireless configuration..(Google it and you will be fine)

Says I have internet, it's just not there.

I would be tempted to reseat the wireless card and ensure its seated firmly - then un install the drivers you have currently - download the latest drivers from the linksys website and install those.

Then try again, also try with a different web browser and see if that helps at all.

Also if you go to command prompt

start --> run and type

cmd

Press enter or click on ok

this should open a black window called the command prompt.

Enter / type the command as below

ipconfig /all

notice there is a space between ipconfig and /all

then press enter and it should state all the information relating to connections on any network adapters obviously you are only interested in the linksys wireless adapter so make sure you are getting a valid ip address, sub net mask etc.

If not then thats your issue, if you are then it should be fine.

If you are still having issues you can try winsock fix and lsp fix as per below

winsock fix

lsp fix

how to fix winsock from MVPS site ( very useful )

some of the links on the above MVPS website are dead just so you are warned.

If this still does not resolve the issue then I would get a squared and hijackthis ( hijackthis.de )

If you google for a squared and hijackthis you should be able to download and update those and run scans for spyware and viruses etc.

Also if you have a spare computer ( a friends or family members that you can test the wireless card on ) if it works on theres fine then that rules out that the hardware ie the wireless card is fine and that its obviously a software issue.
