First, make sure that the YM is working correctly.
Second, be sure that you are using the correct user name and password. Your Yahoo Mail user name and password is also your Messenger user name and password.
Example:
[email protected] (email address) john.smith (should be the user name without @yahoo.com) Then type your Yahoo password.
If same problem occur, try to uninstall and reinstall the Yahoo Messenger.
There is a Yahoo password recovery tool that will work for you as long as you have yahoo messenger installed on your laptop or pc, if the password has been used on that laptop before it should recover it.
