My acer notebook 5920 will not boot up how do i fix it

Assuming your notebook will power on, but will not boot to windows, when you turn it on, there should be a message at the top saying to press one of the 'F' keys for emergency recovery, usually F11. Do this and your notebook will provide options to backup your hard drive and reinstall the operating system. It will take you through the initial setup process from when you first bought the system.

If your notebook will not power on with the battery, plug in the ac adaptor and try again.

Acer Aspire 5920 problem


Your best play is to restore the machine to the factory settings. To do this, power up the machine and immediately press ALT+F10. From there you will enter Acer eRecovery Management which will give you the option of returning the machine to the factory settings.

WARNING:
This will erase everything you had stored on the machine!! ie data files, pictures etc...

Acer problems


The alt f10 key combination they were referring to is a system restore and must be pressed during the boot process.  This will erase the hard drive and install everything as it came from the factory.

I have an acer 5920 laptop, when i start my computer it keeps re-booting before it reaches the home page, have no idea why this happens, battery i fully charged and connected to the mains too, Karl.


Try to boot in safe mode F8 and run scandisk and defrag from system tools, then try to boot again and see if that fixed it. If not it may be a Virus, I highly doubt it's a hardware issue, but if it is it's most likey a bad memory module, so if you have more than one module you will want to take them out one at a time and see if that fixes it. But first try the safe mode boot.

You can try to boot your laptopwith a live Linux CD (e.g. Knoppix CD). This OS can bypass windows installation on the hard drive.See if you can use the touchpad. If the problem is still the same, then your problem is not related to your windows software. It could be a hardware problem.

Audio problem with acer aspire 5920


hithere your best bet is just to go onto the acer site and they will have all the updated drivers for windows vista on there. i had the sameproblem with my laptop which is also an acer. any problems then just emial meon milliprowd21@yahoo.co.uk.

I purchased an acer aspire 5920 notebook a few months back my wife said that the sound just stopped working a few days ago. I have checked through the control panel device manager and both are functioning...


Can you hear sound through the headphone port? If so then it's possible the speaker wire came loose on the inside. If not, then it's most likely a motherboard problem and you should contact ACER for warranty service.
