Question about Intel Motherboard
I have an MSI P35 Neo 2-FR motherboard and I am building the same PC profiled in Maximum PC April 2008 about building your own PC. I am using the Intel Core2 Quad Q6600. At first boot a message came up asking about overclocking to 2.4Gig and to Y/N to accept Bios settings, I entered Y. from then on the computer turns itself off after staying on for only a minute. I removed the jumpers and I have no video and processor error LED's are coming up on the Motherboard. The motherboard came with overclock jumpers set to 200Mhz. I have another CPU coming but I am not sure if the jumpers are the reason for the problem, they were not mentioned at all in Maximum PC, any help would be greatly apprecitated!
A quad Q6600 is manufactured @ .273 overclocked from the factory. at no time should this cpu ever be overclocked anymore unlessd you are using a watercooling system that keeps the cpu @ 69 degrees for stability. anything else will burn it out. lala linda
