Quite some time ago my 42 inch LG plasma developed thin rainbow lines on the left side - now i have 2 1.5 inch vertical lines dividing my screen into 3 sections. can this be fixed ? and at what cost ?

How old it ur tv,ur plasma bulbs might need be replace.Could be the plasma tube it bad because long times use.But ur plasma screen it self could damage kind radiation not worth repairing.
U alway make deal with the repair man come out for estimate.Cost u like u repair with him.
Make sure ask him come out for no cost some charge $40 come out.

Plasma Screen not working only sound

It might be one of the power supplies. There are three in this model. One for the sound, one for the video, and one for the computer components. The video power supply is probably shot. They cost about $200 a peice from LG. If there was a "pop" sound when the video stoped, then it might be one of the circuit boards in the back. Yet again, they are three, each costing around $200 from LG.
