Husqvarna rancher, leaks oil when saw is off. where rubber hose meets pump, seems to fit together well but still leaks out. drains full tank of oil. any fixes or better parts.

The hose is leaking. You will have to replace the hose. You do not have to disassemble the saw in half as many seem to think. Just some of the parts that are in the way. You can insert a wire and pull the hose out from the oil tank along with the filter. It goes in and you remove only the parts that are in the way where the hose comes out.

Oil pump not working

The oil pump is adjustable ( 3 position ) the adjuster screw is under the crankcase below the sprocket, there is also a filter on the end of the pick up hose, you can gently pry this out of the oil tank, there it is a grommet fit into the tank, there is also a nylon drive gear driven by the back of the drive sprocket, this may be damage and not turning the pump shaft.

Hi marcus,

The bar and chain oil goes into the oil tank on the side. The oil for the engine is mixed with the gas before filling the gas tank.

Hope that helps.

Husqvarna 55 rancher-just put new piston ring and cylinder.saw start right up and idles.when i try to acellerate it bogs and try to stall.when I let off gas it idles fine again.I tried turning mixture...

The plastic carb mount has a hole and a slot, this is the pulse channel from the cylinder to work the pump diaphram in the carb, if you look behind the plastic plate there is a tube that fits into the cylinder under the black induction rubber, this feeds a positive and negative pressure to the carb as the piston rises and falls, make sure you have re fitted the small seal in the cylinder that seals this tube or you will have big running problems.
Let me know if you need more help.

Husqvarna 141 oil leak

This model was notorious for leaking oil, there were a number of issues, one of which was the fit of the seals around the oil pump assembly, the inner and outer sealing was replaced by a single piece seal to make it better part no. 545037101, there were also issues with the oil tank itself, the outer half was friction welded on to the inner, some of the seams were not very good and oil would leak from there, in very extreme cases the muffler would leak exhaust gas onto the top of the tank and melt a hole in the tank.

What is the best oil/gas mix for a Husqvarna rancher chainsaw?

50:1 using fresh gas and a modern synthetic saw oil premixed in it's own container. Be sure to shake the container thoroughly just before filling the tank each time to prevent oil starvation. Don't make up more than a gallon at a time unless your business is sawing. Hope this helps!

Husqvarna chainsaw 440e - enough chain lube?

That seems low to me. Page 15 in your manual is the only oil discussion I found. Usually there is an oil pump adjustment reference somewhere. I didn't see one beyond return it for service on page 15. Are the chain and bar hot after cutting a while? I recommend you not get a longer bar without an oiler adjustment. I think the hand of the EPA has been here.

An IPL (exploded parts list) for a 440 can be found here:
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/USA/2009/I09000/I0901018.pdf
There is no oiler adjuster listed. HTH

Might be a good idea to copy the IPL,
