Prior to replacing the IC stk392-150 the tv was having convergence peoblems. The image was in 3D and I was not able the line up the cross bars.I installed the new ampsand made sure that the solder did not short any of the pins. But when i connected all the connectors nothing happened.I have the whole assembly with the PWBs out and checked all the resistors and they all seem to be fine except one R7053 which is reading 3.9 ohms. The value marking on it is completely faded. Also I have removed both the amps.Is it possible to power this unit and test it without installing it in the cabinet. Also do you have the schematics with the resistor values. The amp resistors are 120,82, and 2.2 ohms. Please advice.

I had alredy added more comments and never got a reply if the whole assembly can be checked if I have it outside. Also do you have the resistor values or a service manual for this tv.

I removed both the 392-150 amps and reconnected the TV.It powered on.Then I installed two new 392-110 and powered the TV on again. This time the tv turns on but there is a rattling sound and then the tv shuts off with all the colors diappearing into a small dot in the center of the screen. If I unplug it and reconnect it does the same thing.I do not know what the chattering sound is.

I had posted more comments yesterday and since I did not get a reply I am submitting it again.I removed the stk392-150 and powered the TV.It turned on and stayed on standby. Then I installed a new set of stk392-110 and powered it on.The tv turns on but it makes a kind of a rattling/sputtering sound and then turns off. When shutting off you see a kind of a colored wheel that vanished into a dot in the center of the screen. Seems it is kind of a convergence part issue.

I have a Panasonic Pt-53WX42F which was having convergence problems. The picture was in 3D and no adjustments helped to get the colors lined up.I replaced rhe STK392-110 with STK392-150 and that did not work since the tv would not power up and there was no audio or anything on the screen.Ihad checked all the convergence resistors and the newly soldered amps for any overflow of the solder.Since this did not work I removed the amps and repowered the tv which turned on and showed standby mode. Then I replaced it with STK392-110 and powered it on.The tv came on with no image but with horizontal lines and then it started making a kind of rattling sound and turned off with a kind of a color wheel diappearing into a dot on the screen.Everytime I disconnect and repower it, it does the same.

If you are seeing just a few horizontal lines then the vertical deflection unit isn't operational at full specs - the vertical deflection unit is uncomanded by the syncro stage or the voltage powering it is way too low.
The rattling is made by the power source that tries to shut down because it has detected a big short on one of it's output lines. The dot appears on the screen because the G1 tension on the tubes is way too low and it no longer blocks the tube .
Both these tensions are generated directly in the power source - you must check it, something is at fault there.

If there is no power supply then the Switch mode power suppy( SMPS) can be defective. Unless the secondary voltages reach the amin board the TV will not function.
So armed with a multimeter please check for the input to the SMPS and the voltages to the main board.
You must receive the +5 voltage to the microprocessor section so we can check further for the functioning off the mP IC.
Now this is critical to see that the controller works. So I recommend some tips to check the SMPS.
click on:

To check your processor you must check on the oscillations of the crystal, the input/output logic.

If the processor works and still the main board is not functioning, recheck the newly mounted IC's. Check for track failures in the PCB, check for poor solder.

Now finally please indicate the fault of the set prior to your changing the IC's.

The advice/tip given is with the belief that you are competent. You must attempt to do it yourself only if you are technically/logically able, especially when dealing with delicate devices, damaging while trying to open, Probing electrical/electronic circuits with high voltage or delicate components. Since the advice given by me is with the inputs provided and not based on a visual inspection, there can be further reviews required in some cases.

Sorry I had been off and could not comment. I suggest that you must replace back the older IC's and try one a t a time to ensure that you got a good one.
Sorry I do not have manuals to provide.
Hope you try this once again. Good luck.

I have a Panasonic CT-36hL43G TV that just turned offf while watching it and now the led by the power button blinks one time. Can anyone tell me what this code means or what the problem might be?

i hope your tv is more than 4years old ....... in all CRT TV's or CRT monitors after 4years a component called flyback transformer (see picture ) becomes weak - its work is to supply voltage to tube............. then following are the signs ...
(1) in some TV's only front LED's blinks - no picture no sound.... (2) in some TV's picture comes slowly after few seconds or after few mins or after few hours......... (3) in some TV's suddenly picture & sound goes temporarly & after some time again it appears ...... etc in case of (2) & (3) only flyback transformer needs to be replaced .....100% GUARANTEE again TV works normallyBUT in case of (1)... --------------- YOUR CASE (a) either only flyback transformer gets deffective or (b) flyback transformer & another component called transister ( will be near flyback transformer & its back portion is attached to aluminium metal ) gets defective or (c) along with flyback & transistor -- 3 or 4 more components (resistors, diodes, some times ICs ) gets deffective so replacing flyback transistor is a must .. & to find whether any other component is deffective or not completemainboard has to be checked ....... so if you are a technical person & having expierence in servicing line then you can do it yourself otherwise approach good tv service engineer ........... your TV is really very good one ... so don't think of buying new TV .... just goahead for repairing it it is worth & it works for atleast 2 more yrs....... try this & tell me what happened switch off your TV ... remove power cord from socket ,,,,.ware some mat or chapples to your feet ..... remove your TV's back side cover ......... observe carefully for any physically damaged components .... if you find then don't do anything ... close tv cover & approach tv service engineer ............. but if no physically damaged components are visible then take a suitable screew driver & rotate 2 (or 3) Knobs on flyback transformer in clockwise or anticlockwise direction - very little ( 4 or 5 degrees ) - you have to do this without touching any cable or any part of your tv .......... then fix..... back side TV cover ........connect power cord - stay at a distance & switch on your tv ......... if you get picture atleast for few seconds then in your case only flyback transformer needs to be replaced otherwise complete mainboard has to be checked. to find other deffective component ............. so your tv problem is a harware problem - it cannot be solved using remote control or any buttons on your tv ..... if you are finding difficult to get it repaired then you can remove your tv mainboard with the help of some technician & send to me ...... i will replace deffective components .... & send back to you only have to bare the shipping charges will take maximum 12days (5days - to recieve + 2 days servicing + 5 days to send back to you )....

Stand by button blinks 9 times when power button is pushed & it won't turn on

The power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like, to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Good luck in solving the problem, and do take care in handling the fault, because it contains high voltages....

Check for dry soldering, bulged capacitor, but if otherwise Problem is in either power supply or the Y-Sustain board.

The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.

Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.

if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced.

Thanks and take care...

61uwx10ba. no power to any boards but power supply.

have you reched around the new soldering area carefully, check for solder spills or drops in the printed circuit, also another thing to look for is some of those replacement stk do not hold their weight, you might want to take them out and try the old ones to see if you recover tv power.

Convergence issue, replaced convergence chips, now blinking red power light and no picture

Recheck all of your solder connections for bridging and cold solder joints. Check the large output resistors under the heat sink and the smaller ones to the left of them. Check all of the fuses on the power board. And make sure that you check all of your connectors carefully. Also check that you didn't pinch a wire somewhere.
I am not being mean by saying that if you could power up before then more than likely the power up issue was caused by something you did.
