Won't print The problem started when I tried to cancel a printing. Paper is pulled in aboout 1/3 of the way. Sounds like it's printing then it makes the paper jam sound and green light blinks. I can easily pull paper out, and it is not jammed. The paper won't feed through so the printing can be done. It has always worked so well. Don't know how to fix it/

Paper does't feed. All printing in in top two inches.

I checked for pieces of paper, could not find any. Several times I turned the printer upside down and gently shook, nothing!

After just giving up for several weeks I decided to try one more time before trashing it. I turned it upside down and tipped it from sided to side and heard a rattle. After several side to side "shakes" a white plastic gear broken fell out. So now I know it has a plastic gear wheel broken. Now the question is "How do I replace it"

I've had this problem many times and the only thing that works is to completely shut down your computer, and then SHUT OFF THE POWER TO THE COMPUTER AND PRINTER for a minute or two, then restart. when you restart, the paper should feed thru the computer by itself and then you are all set.

Sounds like a piece of paper is stuck inside the machine. Open all access doors and check. Remove the printer cartridge and reinsert. Make sure the print job has been purged from the queue.

Paper misfeeds after printing only one page

I can think of several solutions. None of them are too priceprohibitive.
The cheapest solution is to check your paper tray and make sure the setting are set for the correct paper size. Also make sure these settings are locked.
You can also try tro visually check and make sure there is no paper debris in the paper path. A pick Up roller kit can be purchased rather inexpensivley sounds like the roller from your tray 1 is not pulling correctly.
Alternativeley try programing the printer to pull from tray 2 or the bypass tray if you have that option.

HP 1500 will not stop Printing

Printer of all types connet to a computer and make use of a spooling service on the computer. You may need to go into the Printers and Faxes section of the computer from the Start button and open up the printer you are using and right click on all the documents that are listed there and click on cancel. There is a relationship between printer and computer with handshaking so you need to cancel and let the printer be connected to cancel the jobs. Pull out the paper tray might be a way to have it stop printing while to cancel the jobs. The cancel or clear on the printer only affect the jobs held in the memory on the printer and then as soon as that is clear the next job from the spool comes in. Clear printer spooling and then the printer should stop.

My hp laserjet 3005 does has paper loaded in try 2 but always prompts me to load tray 1 to print. I would like the printer to print from tray 2 when it's loaded and try 1 is not loaded. Thank you.

Thank you for contacting FixYa with your printer inquiry.
This is a common problem. The device can be set to print from tray 1 if it is loaded, or to print only from tray 1 if the type of media selected is other than standard bond.
Pull out tray 2 and make sure the paper size adjustments are properly set to match your size of paper. If you are using std bond and the adjustments are set to A-4 it won't pull paper.

Unable to cancel a job

Sounds like the printer spool is frozen.

Assuming you're using WinXP and logged in as an administrator (or with admin permissions)

START
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Services

Locate the "Print Spooler"
Right click on this and choose "restart"

This will restart the print queue and will probably try to print the job again or delete it properly. If it tries to restart, just right click on the printer job and choose cancel again..

You may need to repeat but that should at least get you back up and running with other print jobs again.

Brother printer problem

Manual Feed Command.
1. Press the Job Cancel button to cancel the print job. Delete the print
job in the print queue on the computer. You can quickly access the print queue by double clicking the Printer icon in the task
tray or dock.

2. Turn the printer power switch OFF on the right side of the printer.
Check that the front cover is closed.

3. Turn the printer power switch ON while holding down the GO button
until the Toner, Drum, and Paper LEDs are lit.

4. Release the GO button. All LEDs will be off.

5. Press the GO button 8 times. The green Status LED will flash briefly
while the printer is reset. After the printer is reset the Status LED
will be lit green.

6. Print the Print Settings by pressing the GO button three times. If
the Print Settings pages do not print and the Paper LED is on again skip
to the next section - No Paper in the Paper Cassette.

If the Print Settings pages print, the problem is isolated to printing
from your computer. The Paper Source of the Brother printer driver or
program you are printing from may be set to MP Tray or Manual, instead
of Auto Select, Tray 1, or Tray 2 (if the optional paper tray is
installed). To check the Paper Source setting of most programs, click
File and Page Setup or Page Layout. You may need to click the Paper
Source tab or Paper tab depending on your software application. Verify
that in the Paper Source section does not list MP Tray or Manual. Choose
Auto Select, or another relevant source such as Tray 1. Click OK. Try printing the document again.

No paper in the paper cassette.
1. Pull the paper tray completely out of the printer.

2. Insert the letter or legal size paper into the paper tray with the
top edge of the paper first and the print side down. Make sure that the
paper is flat in the tray and below the maximum paper mark. If using a
paper size other than letter or legal, the paper should be loaded in the
MP Tray. The MP Tray can print on paper from 2.75 in. by 4.57 in. up to8.5 in. by 16 in.

3. While pressing the blue paper-guide release lever, slide the paper
guides to fit the paper size. Make sure that the guides are firmly in
the slots. For legal size paper, press the lever located at the back of
the tray and pull out of the back of the open tray.

4. ReinstalI the paper cassette back into the printer. Press the GO
button. If the alarm clears, no further troubleshooting is needed. If
the alarm continues, follow the steps below.

Paper Jam at Paper Pick-up.
1. Turn the printer power switch OFF on the right side of the printer.

2. Remove the paper cassette from the printer.

3. Elevate the front of the printer slightly to locate the jammed
paper.

4. Gently remove the jammed paper.

5. ReinstalI the paper cassette back into the printer.

6. Turn the printer power switch ON. If the alarm clears, no further
troubleshooting is needed.

I have (4) documents to print, but it won't print. It says: 4 document(s) pending owner

To cancel a print job in Windows you can use one of the following two methods:

CANCELLING A PRINT JOB WITH THE PROGRESS METER:
When you send a print job to the printer, the Status Monitor will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen. Another printer icon for the PROGRESS METER will also appear in the taskbar while printing is taking place. This PROGRESS METER is there so you can manage print priorities or cancel print jobs.

1. Highlight the print job in the PROGRESS METER box.
2. Click on DOCUMENT and CANCEL, or, right click on the job name and left click CANCEL or DELETE.
3. Confirm cancelling the print job.

CANCELLING A PRINT JOB FROM THE PRINTERS WINDOW:
If no PROGRESS METER appears, you can access the document queue in this fashion:

1. Open START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS (START, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS and FAXES in Windows XP).
2. Right click on your Epson printer name, left click PURGE PRINT JOBS (98,ME), or CANCEL ALL DOCUMENTS (2000,XP). (Or, double-click on the printer name to see and modify the status of documents in queue.)
3. Confirm cancelling all documents.

Keep in mind that once information has been sent to the printer it resides in the spooling folders within Windows. It may a while for printing to stop as this data clears the system.

If the printer continues to print (ie multiple copies of a cancelled job, or garbled print) remove the rest of the paper from the printer and allow it to run out. Once an "out of paper" type error appears on your screen, cancel the documents. Once all print job information has deleted, reload the paper and press the paper feed button once to clear the red light and return the printer to a ready state.

The Paper light keeps flashing when theres paper in the printer

A few things could be happening here.

1. Clear the print queue, and if there are jobs that won't delete, reboot the computer.
2. Now clear the jobs on the printer (cancel job button) until the status light turns green.
3. Put a piece of paper in the manual feed tray on the front.
4. Print a test page.
If the test page prints to the paper in the manual feed tray, then it is set as the default tray. Go into the printer settings and change it to "auto" or tray 1. If the test page prints to tray 1, but the original document you tried to print (when it got stuck) still won't print, cancel the job. Now, again, put paper in the manual feed tray. Try to print the document again and if it pulls from there, go into page setup of your document and change the setting from "manual" to "auto" or tray 1. Clear the job again (if it's stuck) and you should be able to print again. Hope this helps. This is one of the most common solutions - it happens a lot, especially with documents that are emailed from other people and once they get stuck in the queue, nothing will print (except the test pages directly from the printer, like you describe).
