Trying to hook up wireless internet.Have tried with or wireless netgear support and could not help us.

To set up wireless internet, you must navigate to the settings tab, then go down to the bottom of the settings list, and click on "Network Settings". After that, another menu should show up, click on "Internet Connection Settings". You should get some sort of prompt, hit "ok" or "Yes".

It will then ask you for a "setting method", this will determine how many options you can change. Press "Easy" (Unless you need to give the Ps3 advanced information, but in most cases Easy is sufficient). Select wireless. Then, select "Scan". This will scan for all available wireless networks. Once you find your network, go to it with the D-Pad, and press X. "SSID" should show up on the screen, simply press the right arrow on the D-pad. It may ask you for a security setting, chose the password encryption that is set on your router (WEP, WPA,none, etc). Then enter your password on the next screen.

After that, you can skip the next few screens by pressing the right arrow on the D-Pad until you get to the last setup screen, a "Testing" screen. Press X at that screen, and it will test your network, and hopefully connect you to the internet.

There is no wifi showing up on my playstation 3

You have to turn the WIFI option on for the PS3 to recognize wifi connections.
  • Go to "Network Settings" under the "Settings" option in the Main Menu.
  • Select the "Internet Connection Settings" tab and select "Yes" when the system displays a new screen saying you will be disconnected from the Internet.

  • Choose "Easy" on the next screen.
  • Choose "Wireless" when it asks for what type of connection you would like to use.
  • Select "Scan" on the next screen.
  • Select your wifi internet connection.
  • Select your Security Settings and enter your password
  • .Test the connection by selecting "Test Connection".
  • If everything works out, your network information should show up.
Cheers!

I just had the same problem and managed to fix it.

Plug your controller into the PS3 via USB cable.

Put the PS3 into standby and then keep your finger on the power, every time it switches off hit the power button but keep your finger on it until you see the restore options come up

Press ok to any other screens

Select Restore file system

Press ok to any other screens

Power machine back up and all should be well.

All my games where still there and my settings so happy days. It now plays PS2 games as well, which it used to do but had stopped working a while back.

It won't let me download any M content on my xbox

your content setting is probably set on younger settings. meaning you are only allowed to play games that are teens, and so on...

Game Ratings for Xbox 360Family Settings let you determine the kinds of games that can be played on your Xbox 360 console.
To configure settings for game ratings on your console:
  1. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
  2. Select Family Settings, Console Controls.
  3. Select Game Ratings.
  4. Select the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating level you deem appropriate. When you select a rating, you'll see a definition of that rating.
  5. To set a pass code to limit who can change your Family Settings, select Set Pass Code from the Console Controls screen and follow the on-screen instructions. For more info, see Pass Codes for Xbox 360.
  6. After you've set your code, select Done from the Console Controls screen. When prompted, select Yes, save changes to put your new settings into effect.
Tip
If your settings only apply to select members of the household, share your pass code with people who have unrestricted use of the console. For example, you could decide to share the pass code with an 18-year-old child but not an 8-year-old child.

  2. Select Family Settings, Console Controls.
  3. Select Game Ratings.
  4. Select the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating level you deem appropriate. When you select a rating, you'll see a definition of that rating.
  5. To set a pass code to limit who can change your Family Settings, selectSet Pass Code from the Console Controls screen and follow the on-screen instructions.
  6. After you've set your code, select Done from the Console Controls screen. When prompted, select Yes, save changes to put your new settings into effect.

I was going to sell my PSP and I was wondering how to reset it. So that there are no saved games etc.

To RESET your PSP,
Note: you WILL lose all settings, but NOT the stuff on the Memory Stick.
Go to "System Settings" under "settings".
select "Restore Default Settings". Select OK for both screens.

To FORMAT your Memory Stick,
Go to "System Settings" Under "Settings".
select "Format Memory Stick". click OK for both screens.
your PSP is now free of all personal data and is like new.
