Laptop emits continuous stream of beeps and loads advanced boot options page.

there is couple reason for that. (1) start windows normally and restore the system at previous stage. so if some driver software conflict with hardware then it solve problem. (2) insert the os disc and boot from the disc and choos repair \restore operating system. it may replace any missing system file. (3) if 1st and 2d not solve the problem then remove the RAM and clean it and fix it again. or check SMPS or Hard drive...

I bought used laptop and do not know how to get last users name out of c:documents/settings/linda/etc. address this bugs me can you help

There are two methods.
1. Create a new user account from Start\Control Panel\User Accounts
2. Delete the previous User
3. Enjoy.

The second way is rename the user but still you will have the name of previous user in windows address bar.

Hp nc8000 laptop. Installing used hard drive. Laptop doesn't recognize hard drive when installingXP Pro with disc. Recognized in bios. With install disc only sees previous opsys partition.

Verify that all previous data, partitions, format version etc.... has been removed. If this is a used hard drive it would be advised to erase and clean the drive before use. This can be done with various disk tools or boot disks and/or various open source software products. This is usually a user preferance when using tools of this type. Once the disk has been cleaned and initialized it should be ready for the Windows installation.
If after cleaned and initialized the disk does not show under windows the it could be no good!!!

Purchased new laptop got no startup info

Take the laptop back to where you purchased it, and get a refund, or get them to give you some assistance -- they took your money, and they should stand behind what they sell.

Forgot my password and master password and I'm locked out my mac book

Customer forgot password
If the customer forgot the password for the computer:
1. Insert the Software Install and Restore DVD.
2. Restart the computer while holding down the C key on the keyboard.
3. When the installer appears, chose Reset Password from the Installer menu
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Erase all memory

There may be a restore partition on the harddrive (you'll have to determine if there is), if so you can use the data on that partition to restore the PC to it's original configuration. Otherwise an Operating System disk would be the best way to format the harddrive and do a clean install.

How to install printer to new laptop

You can find the drivers from this website:
http://www.digipro.co.uk/canon-products/printers/colour-printers/canon-ip4300/drivers.html (Click the Windows logo to start download)

Instructions are also there to help you install them.

The manuals you can request from canon (http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/User_Manuals/index.asp) but it looks like you need to pay for them.

Although I did manage to find the Quick Start Guide here: http://www.leoscamera.com/Digital/canon/ip4300_qsg_us_v1.pdf

Hope that helps.

How do i get the old owners info off the phone so i can put mine on it?

Well the easiest way to start with a clean device is to perform a "Hard Reset".. This resets the phone back to the way it was when it came from the factory. It restores the Operating System BUT it deletes all the info YOU and the previous owner have put on. So before doing a hard reset move anything you want saved onto your PC. If there is nothing vital then go to:

Start>Settings>System(tab)> and click on clear storage.

All previous wifi and network settings will be removed. (All customisation and programs installed by you or the previous owner will also be removed)

If you need assistance in inputting the new settings then I suggest joining a support forum like www.xda-developers.com or Modaco etc.

Your HTC is also known as the Mogul or the Titan so on the forums it may be listed under these names.

Start up

This seems to be an old post but I'll answer it anyways - just in case you still need the info.

Windows stores custom info for you in your user profile, preferences, what you have start automatically, the location of your files etc.

Your profile is corrupt.

The easiest way to take care of this is to create a new one. Go to the Control Panel, Users and then create a new user. After creating the new user, log off and log in as this new user and you will not have the message. If you then need to copy your old information, documents, pictures etc to this new profile, reply to this post and we can go from there.
