Nobody wants to help with this. For some reason it's a big secret.

Here is a 4.3 MB pdf manual for Dewalt generators: 2900 4300 6000 7000

Dewalt has service centers and parts sales, you'd think they'd be eager to post manuals on their webiste. Service centers are probably only place to get parts.

Another solution is for you to post question for paid fixya expert who may have a manual for sale, or buy a manual elsewhere, and then scan your manual into pdf format, and post your manual on your website that you pay for each month, add a comment to this thread at fixya with web address of your free download, and let people download your manual for free from the website you pay for each month because you're a great guy.

Yeah I'd expect an answer like that from an auto shop that wants to replace a part on my car that I can replace myself. What's the harm in posting a schematic on the internet? They're all over. Last time I buy anything from DeWalt. I did the same thing with Sony. I'll never buy their junk again because their customer service sucks.

I have a DeWalt DG6000 generator. When I turn on the gas pet cock valve gas runs out of the carbuerator. What could be the problem/s?

Most likely that's your problem. There's probably dirt holding the float pin open. You might want to tap it with a screwdriver to see if it seats or shake the generator a bit. If that doesn't work you'll have to remove the carburetor, take out the float bowl and manually check the inside for dirt or grime. It could also be the float if its cracked or filling with gas. Best thing to do is just rebuild the carb or get one online. You can get one for under $100. Also make sure that your fuel tank doesn't have dirt in it or it will keep happening. This problem also causes gas to seep all the way into the crank case oil if the gas valve isn't turned to the off position after using the generator.

DG6000 voltage output at idle = 96v, no load. Wont keep up under load.Where can I get info for setting the generator output

This sounds like you have a Vacuum leak.

Take a look at this link:

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/dewalt-dg6000-type-generator-parts-c-1009_4009_4011.html#question_5469

Diagram "D"

It looks like the auto throttle is controlled by a vacuum system. I would look there first. My guess is that the vacuum hose, item #580 on page D of the parts diagram, is either disconnected or has been damaged. If the vacuum hose is OK you will need to work your way through the vacuum assembly and inspect each part. The parts I would suspect are the check valve, item #564, and the diaphragm, part #560.

The vacuum hose is part #285804-16, the check valve is part #285804-01 and the diaphragm is part #285803-97. All of these parts are available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com.

I suspect that the vacuum line given the location may have a hole in it.

If replacing the vacuum line (Get it from any auto parts store in bulk and cut to length) does not correct your problem repost here and I will discuss setting the output.

Thanks for using FixYa!
