Hello there:
LE Locked motor error. Cause: The connector (3-pin), male, white) in the motor harness is not connected to the connector. (3-pin,female,white) of stator assembly. Or the electrical contact between the connectors. (3-pin,male,white) in the motor harness and 4-pin,female,white connector in the main PWB assembly is bad or unstable. Or the motor harness between the stator assembly and main PWB assembly is cut (open circuit) Or the hall sensor is out of order/defective.

These supposed to be the cause of the LE error. Please follow below steps to rectify it

In new installations, this error can sometimes present because of a miscommunication between the control panel and the wash motor. In this instance, the washer simply needs to be reset.

1: Unplug the washing machine.

2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.

3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.

Over-sudsing is the main cause of LE error codes. Using non-HE (high efficiency) detergents or too much detergent will cause stress on the motor. In addition, detergent residue can also cause leaking and odor.

Follow these steps to resolve an LE error code caused by over-sudsing.

1: Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.

2: Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.

3: Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.

4: Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.

5: After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause]. This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum. Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Check whether the drum is over loaded.
Single bulky items or large loads can add extra weight to the drum and place stress on the motor. Remove some of the clothing and restart. If the issue is still present after a few items have been removed, unplug the washer for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool and then restart the cycle.
Thank You

LE error on washer. What can I do without a tech?

The *dreaded* "LE" error is overwhelmingly caused or triggered by incorrect type detergent **OR** too much *HE* detergent (a special low sudsing detergent).
In all LG washers-when too much detergent has been used-this will cause the "LE" error to be displayed & the wash cycle will be interrupted. Unplugging the washer for more than one minute will cause the MAIN BOARD (computer) to power down and re-boot when the washer has been plugged back in.
On LG washers built *before* 2008-after several "LE" error events-the error *cannot* be reset by unplugging the washer. This indicates that the HALL EFFECT SENSOR has failed and will need to be replaced.
On all LG washers built during and after 2008-a more robust resistor was used in the HALL EFFECT SENSORS-which eliminated damage caused by higher electrical loads placed upon the sensors due to oversudsing. HALL EFFECT SENSORS virtually never fail in 2008 and newer LG washers but the "LE" error will still occur if too much or the wrong type of detergent is used. This will be "resettable" by unplugging/replugging the washer.
The CORRECT amount of HE (High Efficiency) detergent to be used is as follows:
HE : (2) Tablespoons Per Wash Load
HE 2X : (1) Tablespoon
HE 3X : (1) Teaspoon

Im getting an LE error code. What is that and how do I fix it? The only repair guy is either out of biz or just wont return calls. Thank you

LE error codes on LG front loads are usually caused by the filter being clogged. Remove the small door on front left of machine and remove the filter Some water will come out . Clean the filter and reinsert it and see if that solves the problem

LE is a locked motor error. Not to worry as 95% of the time it is just a bad hall sensor (the motor position sensor). For your model the part number is 6501KW2002A.

When drum starts to turn locks up then will turn one way but not the other.then after 2 or 3 times it will turn the other way then le code comes up

Possibly a bad load sensor ($20 part 6501KW2002A)

For me it was the bearings were shot. Heard
loud noise during spin then the unit stopped and displayed the LE error.

Removed the rear panel then removed the large center bolt. Grabbed both sides of the Stator cover and rocked it back and forth till it came off. Noticed that the drum had been leaking which caused the bearings to break away which lodged in the motor.

Now I'm replacing with diff brand since i'm not sure what all damage this caused.

Le code appears during normal cycle

LG recommends unplugging the washer for 15 - 20
minutes to reset the microprocessor.

The most common cause for the LE error code is over-sudsing in the machine from using regular detergent instead of a high efficiency detergent. The HE detergents are designed for lower suds levels and enhanced cleaning performance in front-loading washers.

Overloading the wash with too much laundry may also cause the LE error code. LG recommends loading the washer until the clothes in the drum are no more than three-fourths of the way up the window of the door. This will allow them sufficient room for tumbling.

I have a front-loading LG WM2277HW - the drum will not spin - it "attempts" to start - but then will just not move - after some time, I get the error message "LE" - which I understand indicates "motor...

Here is a link so that you can access the service manual
note page 18 regarding the error display LE.. This manual should allow you to better understand how to diagnose that problem.
Hope this helps you.,.

I have a top load Kenmore washer, it is not spinning out and the drum is moving back and forth,

This is a bad motor position sensor. Since the machine cannot tell what position the motor is in it just spins back and forth trying to figure it out. Often an error code will pop up after 15-20 minutes.

A technician should be able to replace this part relatively cheaply. Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

I have an error code on my Tromm front loading washing unit that says LE. What does it mean? It won't complete it's wash cycle.

My husband opened the back panel and gave the drum a spin to get it going again. I believe ours errored due to being unlevel.
