SOURCE: i bought pro evolution soccer
I dont think it had anything to do with the game, but playstation 3's are fairly new and like the xbox 360 will have problems until they have been around. I know it sucks but about the only thing you can do is call sony and tell them the problem and chances are they will repair or replace it for free. Most likely they will already have an idea of what the problem is and be able to fix it and send it back fairly quick.

Hi Firstly, create a system restore point, start, all programmes, accessories, system tools, system restore, create the restore point, ( today's date is good, or restore 1,2,3, etc...)
Go to start, control panel, system, device manager, scroll down to display adapters,
click the plus sign, write down the make model of your video card, copy paste this into google
write driver on the end of the video card type when writing into google,
you will come across the maker of the card, go to the manufacurers website,
locate the updated driver, download to desktop,
Now back into device manager, into display adapters, plus sign, double or alternate click the video card, go into properties of the card, second tab driver tab,
click update driver, scan your pc for it, if it cannot find it, browse for it yourself and go to desktop where you put it,
your done, you have updated the driver.
If it all goes wrong, use the system restore you made earlier,
And now start again...
