Question about Baumatic BTM24 Microwave Oven

Open Question

Hi. On my Baumatic BTM24 Microwave, the "10 MIN", "1 MIN" and "10 SEC" buttons have suddenly stopped working, all other functions of the microwave are working properly. Is there a way to reset the microwave to enable the buttons to work again, or are there any other ways to re-activate them please? I have tried turning the microwave off (at the main power switchboard as the microwave is inbuilt and the plug is behind it) but had no effect. Regards David Cook

SOURCE: I have a Baumatic microwave

If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron.
So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off.
Make sure that the program controller is working if not check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if contact is not through the microwave will not work.

Now keeping clear of the microwave, switch on, use a cup of water inside to test.
If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. replace with same type.
If there is heating without any issues, you can use the microwave safely

AFTER SETTING TIME COOK TO 1 MIN 60 SEC AND PUSHING START BUTTON 4O SECS MORE IS ADDED, I.E. TOTAL 2 MINS SHOW ON DISPLAY. CAN I RESET THE THE COMPUTER.

There are sixty seconds in a minute, so 1 min 60 sec is the same as 2 min. If you want 40 seconds less than 2 minutes then set it for 1 min 20 sec or for 80 sec.

Replace bulb

You must remove the metal cabinet around the oven, there are machine screws on the back and on the sides, take them out and the cabinet slides off. Make sure you unplug it well before you start work to replace the bulb.

Hi when i set the microwave at 100 watts for 1 min it starts and stops working by itself when timer reaches 38 sec and it also dosent make the beeping sound in the end.please help

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes and try again.

We have a BAM2801 Microwave oven that has started to randomly beep and 8's keep coming up on the screen. No other buttons appear to work and we can't stop it beeping. Are you able to provide any...

Ours did exactly the same thing. Fortunately we are still in the warranty period and it is to be replaced, but the 2801 is apparently out of production and we are now in discussions over its replacement. They brought a BAM253TK today, but it is smaller, has fewer features, fewer heat options and has a rotary dial, not push pad and the one they brought had a faulty door opener. I'll see what eventuates!

Can't set the clock on a 1987 Quasar Superwave convection Microwave MQ8777BW

I had a similar problem--no manual--but found this way to set the clock:
1) Be sure colon is flashing (unplug and replug)
2) Press the 10 HOUR/MIN, 1 MIN, 10 SEC/MIN, and 1 SEC/MIN buttons until the correct time displays.
3) Press the CLOCK button.
Hope this helps.

My microwave says "child" and won't play anymore

Not sure of the TT series models but for the NN series models the procedure is as follows:-

If "Child" is displayed in the display window, then the child safety lock is on.

To remove the child safey lock, press the "Stop/Reset" button 3 times in fairly short succession (less than 3 seconds). The time of day or just the Colon sign (:) is then displayed

If you later want to apply the Child safety lock, then, when the time of day (or colon sign) is displayed, press "Start" 3 times (again in short succession).

Hope this helps
