Question about Roper FGP325K Gas Kitchen Range

1 Answer

I have the roper gas kitchen range, and the shut-off valve is on the other side of the wall. Well I have a cat that jumps on the stove sometimes and knocks the black knobs sideways, turning the stovetop gas on, and sometimes fills my apartment with gas (dangerous). The valve is to the left and the gas is not off. Other sources I've read though say that if it's on the left, it's off! Which way is off??

SOURCE: my roper stove keeps clicking even when all knobs are off!!!

spilling water around spark control switches closed to burner control valves could cause that...may stop clicking in a day or so..or if on low flame setting the orfices on the burner head are carbon restricted? clean orfices with torchtip cleaners..

SOURCE: i have a Roper kitchen

The constant indicator light indicates that it is shorted somewhere; perhaps welded contacts in one of the switches. Possibly a bad infinite switch for that burner, or an uninsulated wire making ground contact. Some electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter will have to be performed to find where the short is. If you have any further questions message me back. Please also remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future. Thanks Rick

Stove burners don't ignite ,the regulator isn't letting the gas go to the range kenmore gas stove model 665 75022101

First, check to make sure gas is actually getting to the range and hasn't been stopped by a clog or simply shut off accidentally. Next, make sure the120v AC is present. If you verify that gas *is* reaching the range and there is 120 volts getting to the range, then the main gas valve is next in line(where the gas line connects). The part numbers for the main valves in the range are:
8523378, gas shut-off
8054079, gas valve
I hope this helps you!

I OWN A WOLF CHR 6-29 GAS STOVE AND WANT TO SHUT THE GAS OFF TO THE OVEN PILOT LIGHT. i AM NOT SURE WHERE THE PILOT VALVE SHUT OFF IS OR WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

You should be able to blow out the pilot, after 30 seconds or so the fuel flow should be stopped by the oven safety (usually has the red button on it) If that does not work, the pilot is either fed from the gas manifold on the top (sometimes has a small needle valve to shut off, or it could be fed throught the safety valve. The valve will have an adjustment in it, usually under a cover screw. If the pilot fuel flow does not stop when there is not flame present, You should have the safety valve replaced. This can be a potentially hazardous scenario. Hope this information helps.

What space is required behind range to allow for gas hook up

If you follow the installation directions for this range, you should be able to have zero clearance from the wall IF the electric outlet and gas shut off valves are located in the proper places. The gas valve should not protrude more than 2" from the back wall in order to have the stove sit flush against the back wall, when pushed all the way in.

Here's a copy of the installation instructions from Jenn-Air for your stove. Please see page 10 for their recommended location of the electric outlet and gas supply line and shut off valve

Gas Odor and Oven Heating

The gas valve may be failing. The 'whooshing sound' you hear may be the gas valve closing too slowly when the oven cycles off or the cavity is filling with gas and igniting when the oven cycles on. The gas you smell may be an indication that the valve is not closing completely. This can be potentially dangerous if the oven fills with gas then ignites. I would not operate the stove any longer and shut off the gas to the stove.

Burner goes out on simmer

look down the shaft of the burner valve(remove the knob). with a very thin and somewhat long screwdriver you should be able to adjust this flame, with the burner on MED hold the shaft of the valve with a pair of pliers and turn the screw slowly( you'll need to hold the shaft tightly because if not you'll be turning shaft and not adjustment screw. small increments yield big changes in flame

Ge spectra gas stove top not lighting

There is nothing fancy about how the gas controls work on this unit. Do all burners give you the same problem? If so, it could be a kinked service hose or a service valve that has been partly shut. If it is limited to a single burner or two, the valve may be gummed up and should be replaced.
