Hello,

First off, I am not intimately aware of your system. However, the battery that keeps settings and the Date and Time should be under the cover of your control panel. It looks about the size of a quarter or a bit smaller and about 5 millimeters or less thick. We all call these Button Batteries. Yours will have a number stampted on the +face such as 2027 They're easily found at either the grocery store or a Radio Shack. Cost about five bucks, usually.

That's about all I can say at this moment. If removing the cover to your control panel doesn't reveal the button battery, Please Let Me know and I'll be happy to get the schematic and let you know.

I moved into my home over a year ago and didn't go through the installation process. I have an Ademco that keeps beeping and won't stop until I hit a button on the panel. The flap of the panel reads...

It sounds as if your CMOS battery is dead or dying. Follow these steps to resolve your problem:

1. Ground yourself

2. Open the case

3. Locate and remove the circular, silver battery ( it is probably labeled CR2035 or something like that)

4. Replace this with a new battery.

5. Power on your computer

Hope this is helpful

Set Up a D-Link Wireless Router
  • 1 Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the DSL modem.
  • 2 Then plug the other end into the "WAN" port on the back of the D-Link wireless router.
  • 3 Connect wired computers to any of the other Ethernet ports on the router using another Ethernet cable.
  • Access the D-Link Configuration Screen
  • 1 Open your web interface and type "http://192.168.0.1" into the address bar, then hit "Enter" or "Return."
  • 2 Use "Admin" as the username and leave the password blank when the login screen appears.
  • 3 Click "OK." You should now see the D-Link configuration screen.
  • Set Up General Security
  • 1 Change your administrative password by clicking on the "Tools" tab and choosing the "Admin" button. Enter a new password under the "Administrator" heading. Confirm it, and click "Apply."
  • 2 Disable the wireless Local Area Network (LAN) if you don't need to use the wireless access and you want to make sure no one else is able to access your network.
  • 3 Under the "Home" tab, choose "Wireless" and select the "Off" option.
  • Enable Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP)
  • 1 Locate the "Home" tab in the D-Link Configuration screen, and click on the "Wireless" button.
  • 2 Use the "Open System" button beside "Authentication."
  • 3 Select the "Enabled" button next to "WEP," and set the encryption key to "128 bit."
  • 4 Set the "Key Type" to "ASCII" and choose a 13-digit password for the "Key 1" field.
  • 5 Write down the password in a secure location.
  • 6 Click "Apply."
  • Change the SSID
  • 1 Change the SSID to make it more difficult for others to locate and use your network by clicking on the "Home" tab and locating the "Wireless" button.
  • 2 Change the default SSID to one of your choosing, then click "Apply."
  • 3 Disable SSID broadcasting. Under the "Advanced" tab, click on "Performance" and check off the "Disabled" box. Again, click "Apply."
  • Filter MAC Addresses
  • 1 Click the "Advanced" tab in the D-Link "Configuration" screen and select the "Filters" button.
  • 2 Choose the "MAC Filters" and click on "Only Allow Computers with MAC Address Listed Below to Connect to the Network."
  • 3

Its a dell 8300 dimention with windows xp . its locked by password on the bios and the basic password access. I got it a yard sale, and the bios version is AO3 .what are my options ?

Hi you can try AMI or AMIBIOS

the best way is to get reset its password from a hardware shop. They will short one of its jumper on motherboard to reset password. If you are a hardware guy you can do it yourself. The jumper is near internal battery (to locate exact location go through the motherboard manual).

Alternately you can unplug power, remove internal battery and short the connecter's ends for 5 mins using a metallic wires.

Pl let me know if it works, pl dont forget to rate it.

Zone Alarm will not start up when I turn on my computer?

    Hi,
You can ADD the "Zone alarm" executable to your windows startup.
This can be done in 1 simple way.

    1. Locate the "Zonealarm.exe" in your "Program files" folder. Usually your Program Files folder will be here "C:\Program Files". Just run a search for "Zonealarm.exe" inside this folder.

    2. After locating the "Zonealarm.exe" file, right-click on that file. And select "Create Shortcut".

    3. After that you'll find a "Zonealarm.exe" Shortcut file or icon inside the same folder.

    4. Just COPY or CUT the shortcut file.

    5. Now Right click on the "START" button.

    6. Select "Open all users".

    7. This will open a windows explorer window. Locate "Programs" folder and Enter it.

    8. Inside you should locate "Startup" folder and enter it.

    9. Once u ar inside the "Startup" folder, paste the already copied "Zonealarm.exe" shortcut file.

    10. That's it. Now try re-starting the system.

    Thanks
