On the back of these GRMS radios, there is a latch at the bottom of the casing. Remove the belt clip by pushing it up, then release the latch at the bottom of the radio to open the battery compartment.

The battery door will flip up then pull it down and off. Reverse to replace and battery installation.

Why doesn't trunk open with remote

If you have never replaced the remote's battery, it may be time. The 'coin' type batteries do live long but not forever and mfr.s typically suggest that the lithium cells have a 'shelf life' (unused) of more than five years.
I don't know the construction of your remote so don't know if the battery is user-replaceable or not and if not, the dealers usually take advantage of customers when they can. The batteries alone are cheap costing a few dollars at worst.
If you have the 2nd remote stashed somewhere, you might try it if it has not been in use. Even then, the battery may quickly be depleted in the spare too.

I don't have a manual. My scales have been very variable, like this morning showing that I had gained nearly 5 lbs in one day. I've been sick and am not eating much, so I know that can't be...

I don't have a manual. The readout is in kilos rather than pounds some of the time. How can I get it to read in pounds all the time? Also I replaced the batteries. Are they supose to be both with + up? I have a replacement heart valve so I don't want to know body fat. How do I make sure it is off?
