Hello baba_zam,

The Maxon SL100 can be programmed but doing so requires a programming kit including software and a specialized cable. Unless you are going to be reprogramming a lot of units regularly, you are going to be best served by taking the unit into your local Maxon dealer and paying them to reprogram it for you.

I just purchased two Baofeng BF 888s radios and had them programmed to our frequency here. They will both receive and transmit with each other but not transmit to the radios we already had. Any ideas?

Your radios could be programmed with subaudible tones (CTCSS) or digital code squelch (DCS) which the new radios do not have. They can be programmed for it, you need to find out what tone/code you are using.
It could also be that your existing radios are programmed for a "duplex" repeater channel, with different transmit and receive frequencies. The new radios might be on the "repeater output" frequency so they would not activate the repeater.
Both could be the case, missing tone and duplex frequencies.
I would check the programming of the new and old radios, especially for tone/code squelch.

How do I change channels on my Maxon 49-sx

  • The "Maxon 49-SX" is a single channel transceiver that only operates on 49 MHz FM. The Maxon "49-FX" and "49-HX" operate on 5 adjustable adjustable frequencies. That radio has no channel/frequency options.

  • Hope this helps.

How do i get another cls1100 on the same freq and code #?

Not certain if you are referring to purchasing another radio or programming an existing radio. So we will answer both:

1) If programming another CLS1110 to match your existing radio, First try it straight out of the box and fully charged. Many people use the default factory programming. If that does not work follow the simple instructions on page 26 in the user guide. Here is a link: http://www.banoggle.com/Products/Motorola/manuals/CLS-series-manual.pdf There are also cloning instructions on page 32.

2) If you are talking from the perspective of purchasing a new radio, all CLS1110 radios operate on the same frequencies/PL codes. (Unless you have a foreign model purchased in another country, then it is iffy) Simply purchase your new radio and follow the programming instructions above.

Best regards.

I have a maxon sl55-u2 frequency radio only channels 1 to 4 work. why is this?

Only 4 channels have been programmed, you will need a programming cable to plug it into a computer and use the maxon software to programme the other channels to whatever frequency you need.

Hi i have a maxon Radio i am not sure what model it is as it does not say the model. I was wondering how i would programme the radio so that it would work on a certain frequency

if it is a CB radio, you are stuck on the 27mhz band, and the channels that it comes with. I am not familiar with maxon radio's. Some radio's the PLL chip can be controlled to shift the band the radio works on. This is still limited to the 10-11 meter bands. You can go a band up, and a band down usually.

I have no clue if this radio is capable. So I couldn't tell you how to do it.

I can tell you, that you cannot just pick a frequency and make it work on it.

Reprogramming a Maxon SP 100G?

Hello codeencrypt,

THE SP100G is essentially the same radio as the SP100U UHF business band unit that Maxon made at the same time, just pre-programmed for GMRS. I believe there is a programming kit for this radio (Model number: SPK400C) which may still be available for purchase from Maxon directly. Otherwise, your best bet is going to be contacting your local Maxon dealer to see if they have the capability to program he radio.

Best regards,
Ken
