My Hitachi Simple Disk (500 GB) was dropped and it won't connect to my computer and it makes some clicking noise; it sounds like it might be stuck when it's trying to spin (assumption)

The bad news is that yes, your hard drive has physical issues. Try placing the drive in a freezer bag and placing in the freezer for 48 hours. After that time, try connecting the drive... THEN backup everything you can off of that drive since the drive heads have physically hit the platters (in other words, the drive is no good anymore)

Hitachi 500 GB Sata Hard disk device driver

You just connect it up, and boot from your system disk, and your computer will install the necessary software for you. You must be connected to the internet and this must not be your system disk (unless you are booting from CD or an eternal device)

My mac no longer recognized the drive. When it is attached it makes a clicking sound.

Clicking means a dead hard drive, usually the controller board is bad, but most shops won't repair this, hopefully it's under warranty.

Hitachi Deskstar - Model HDP725050GLA360 Sata 3.0 500 GB S/N RJ3KSXHE Clicking sound after being dropped. Is there any hope of recovering the data on this drive at a reasonable price?

if the hard disk has crashed and the sound when it runs later he failed to be detected by the system, it is difficult to restore the data in it because it was not detected by the computer. The cheapest way is that you replace with only secondhand.

Have you considered checking your DVD writer? Also, you might already have a faulty hard disk drive.
You can try any of the following:
1. Double check to see if your Windows 7 installation disk is dirty (clean it using a lint free cloth) or has many scratches. (Your DVD reader/writer would really have a hard time reading scratched disks.)
2. Borrow another DVD-ROM from a friend and use it to install Windows 7 on your computer's C drive.
3. Check to see if ALL cables are properly connected. i.e. SATA, power cables, etc.
4. You could also try to make your 500 GB HDD as a slave drive so that you can backup your files to another media if it works. (Backup to another external hard disk drive, burn it to DVD's, etc.)
5. LISTEN carefully if your hard drive makes unusual noises like unusual clicking, bumping, and/or scratching sound inside your hard disk drive. If it does and as a last resort, replace your hard disk drive.

My Hitachi Hard Disk... is properly conected and everything.. but the problem is that... it doesnt show up in "my computer"...... i think is that because i have to format it or install the drive...

If it is "unused" and "brand-new" and this is the first time that you've connected the drive, then you will need to "initialize" it.
Click Start
Right-click My Computer
Click Manage
Click Storage
Click Disk Management
Use this tool to "initialize" the device, and to assign a drive-letter (maybe 'E:' or 'F:' ???)

Exactly the same problem here

when a disk make clicking sound it likely the writer head in the disk. I suggest that you leave your disk to nearst computer store and ask if they can do something, they should have some special programs to recover your data.

have you looked in the BIOS, does the BIOS find your harddrive?
