Question about HP Pavilion Media Center a1320n PC Desktop

1 Answer

I've been trying for about a month now to get my computer back up and running. I have read each and every one of the manuals and I've tried everything I know to do. I don't know if my computer is a "hopeless case" now and needs to be trashed or what?\r\nI recently bought the system recovery kit for my HP Pavilion Media Center a1320n Desktop PC and have tried several times (8, or, 10) to restore it to no avail. The very first time it gave the message that there was less than one minute to complete, and it froze and would not finish. It did it again, with the less than one minute to complete system recovery and it froze and got stuck again. I have called HP for help with the new system recovery set of discs on the telephone 3 or 4 times to no avail. I was told by one of HP's Rep that I was being switched over to technical support, only to be reminded that my warranty had expired and i would have to pay for telephone Tech Support. Right now when I turn on my computer it's very slow to boot up and then it goes to Menu Settings, I have tried setting to Default Settings and Exiting. I have tried Booting with Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 2 and loaded all the files on partitions to no avail. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!

    1. Please provide more information as to what the screen is doing?
    2. What operating system you are using?
    3. Do you have up to date anti virus software.
    4. Is the PC powering up?
    5. How old is the PC.
    6. How much RAM/ hard drive space does the unit have?
    7. I see where you have no warranty with the manufacturer and that the unit is running slow and that the recovery disk have not worked.
More details are needed. but it sound as though you have lost the "boot sector" on your hard drive.

Honestly your best option is to erase Windows and reinstall it. if youre running Windows xp that tells me its an older pc. that means you have a lot of years of buildup. do you still have the sticker with your xp license somewhere on your computer? it looks like the sample im providing you. if you still have the sticker all you need is the cd that matches it. not too hard to find. let me know if you have the sticker and we'll go from their.

SOURCE: savedump.exe error

Hi there
Savedump.exe is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. The file is a Windows core system file. The program has no visible window. savedump.exe is a Microsoft signed file. Therefore the technical security rating is 4% dangerous.
Some malware camouflage themselves as savedump.exe, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the savedump.exe process on your pc whether it is pest. I recommend Security Task Manager for verifying your computer's security.

If you want to get the full potential of 64bit processor then you will have install XP X64 and yes i'm sure SP3 will install.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

Looks like you've tried a lot. Try this stuff.

1) Try F11 instead.
2) Dunno. Corruption?
3) chkdsk /f
4) Microsoft EULAs are much less crackable than their software, according to BitTorrent.

Post some pictures of your pilot assembly. I think this might be one of them spark sensor deals where the pilot lights and then detects flame then relays that back to the control for igniton verification. OR just try and clean up the electrode with steel wool and see if the flames stays lit is what I would try.

Conduit is malware. Get rid of it first, and reboot. Start by downloading the free version of Malwarebytes (Anti-Malware) from https://www.malwarebytes.com/ install it and run it - that takes an hour or more. It should locate and deal with malware like Conduit in your computer. Then reboot and try again.
There are more detailed methods if that did not remove it all.

Why is adobe flash player crashing everyday?

Quite often you may have to do the removal and restart your PC. Once you have done that, check your registry to make sure you have removed any traces of flashplayer. Before you edit your registry, make sure you back it up first. Should something go awry, you can go back and recover to the back up registry file. Also make sure you do one product removal at a time and check that the reinstall removed all pieces.

Don't use the pre installed backup software, just grab an external HDD or a second internal HDD and do it manually.
