I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Is it actually catching on fire or is it overheating and shutting down on the high limit?

If you mean the stove overheats and gives you an EE12 message we can help? If the stove catches on fire you have many other issues. An EE12 message is fixed by cleaning the circulating fan screen on the back of the heater. While back there you should clean the fan blades as well.

What causes the check engine light to come on?

The check engine light is triggered by failures in the emission control system. Fire under the vehicle indicate possible problem with overheating the Catalyst due to excess fuel getting to the catalytic converter. Have the codes read and get the diagnosis done. It will get worse unless it is fixed.

Same problem continued: Got lower panel off, both coils OK, igniter works, flame blue, but flame shuts off after ~ 3-4 minutes. Does keeping lower panel off affect this?

Burner assembly will cycle on and off. There are temp controls that cause the on/ off cycle so the clothes don't get too hot or catch fire. It will cycle off faster when empty than with a normal load.

Stops once started

Dryers generally have a high limit switch close to the heating element. Without knowing make and model I can't be specific. Some have a manual reset button; others work as a fusible link and must be replaced. They may trigger because of overheating. Try and clean-out the dryer vents and vaccume up as much stuff as you can. Remember, dryers cause about 30% of house fires.

Our 4 cycle whirlpool dryer runs for 5 -10 minutes gets hot and shuts off.

check to see if the dryer vent is clogged up - When a dryer gets to hot it will shut off to prevent catching fire!!! If the vent is clogged it forces the heat from the dryer to stay in and that causes the dryer to over heat!!!

What are the signs of a gy6 engine chineese version overheating?

Hi,

This product poses a risk of fire because there is a potential for battery overheating caused by a high resistance connection. Overheating may cause damage to the battery packs and possibly the scooter, which could result in a potential fire hazard.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Fan has 2 settings for the fan; auto & high. when in 'high' mode, the heating element will cycle on/off as if it is in 'auto' mode (i.e., the thermostat will turn the heating element off). but, the it...

A common issue with these heaters is the safety switch which is part of the thermostatically controlled temp switch. A faulty safety switch would result in constant "on/off" cycle as the unit is sensing an over-heated safety condition. If you hear a "click" when it shuts off and then another "click" when it turns back on, it is that switch heating up and cooling down opening and closing the circuit.

The manufacturer must install a "master" kill switch to prevent the unit from overheating and catching fire. A faulty switch may be the issue you have been facing.

End result, more money in getting it "fixed" than what you could spend to buy another heater. All in all, great heater when it works - horrible when it decides to break!!

Ever heard of a transmission overheating enough to cause fire?

It is very unlikely that the transmission would over heat enough to cause a fire anywhere in the passenger compartment. If in fact there was a fire in the passenger quarter panel area there are two things that would be the cause. Either wiring behind the kick panel became shorted and caused the fire or the exhaust became extremely overheated and caused the fire.

Dryer will not come on when temp is selected and button is pushed

You have a bad thermal fuse. Take back off. There are two different types. One type is round and looks like other pieces in the back only smaller. It has two wires. The other is 1/2" wide and 2" long with one screw, also with two wires. You can test either one you have by first unplugging the machine, Connecting the two wires running to the piece together. Tape them so they will not touch metal. Now plug machine in and try. It should heat. DO NOT CONTINUE TO OPERATE MACHINE WITH PART BYPASSED This is a high limit safety. It keeps the machine from overheating. If left bypassed it will catch fire. You will also need a cycling thermostat. Kits are sold with both parts inside. The cycling thermostat not working caused the machine to cycle on the thermal fuse until it went out.

Why do my headlights just go out while driveing then I will shut them for awhile and they will come back on

your headlight switch is overheating from high resistance. if you dont replace it, it could get hot enough to catch fire. have it replaced.
