Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a KM C450 and I have no problem making left binding 2-sided copies on 11 x 17 size paper. But when I try to print 2-sided with left side binding on 8.5 x 11 size paper it will only give me top-binding even though I've gone through the selection process. How do I change the print setting to produce left binding instead of the top binding. Thank you.

    Hi,
I followed your instructions but did not see any option to change the paper order to front to back. Can you explain further. Thank you.

I am using MS Publisher, MS PowerPoint & MS Word. I think the problem started when I first tried to print something on 8.5 x 11 size paper when printing a document in Publisher. I got a message saying I needed to setup my printer for producing 2-sided copies. I followed some directions that came up on my screen and my printing ability was never the same again.

The easiest way out of your current situation is to uninstal the printer driver. Restart your computer. Instal your driver again and everything would be set back to factory defaults that will give you the vent to print on letter size paper with left binding.

This should be a software setting, what software are you using to print from?

Thanks

Hello,

Go to printer and faxes on your system, right click on the printer and select printer preference, change the paper order to front to back and make sure the orientation is on portrait.

Take care.

How do you make a kyocera KM-1820 make 2 sided copies?

Hello, The Kyocera KM-1820 does not support automatic duplexing (double-sided).If a double sided copy/print is required you would have to do it manually, print the first side, then flip the paper over and run it back through the printer again for the second side.

It seems to me to be a problem of the Blue paper cassette size dial is set wrong. First see what the settings are from the display by pressing the paper select button. Most people have it set for the upper cassette to be LTR ( 8 1/2 X 11 inch paper - length running from front to rear in the cassette ) and the lower cassette to be LTR-R ( 8 1/2 X 11 inch ) or Legal ( paper length running left to right). Check to make sure the blue dial agrees with what's in the cassette. Try doing the testing by putting the paper on the glass first and closing the top. If this is correct and the problem is in the Documnet feeder then one of the raised flags may be broken or the sensor bad. The left one is for letter, the second one for LTR-R or legal and the third is for 11 X 17. The opening and closing fo the side guides also helps to determine paper size. Hope this helps you.

When selecting duplex printing on the print setup screen change the box labeled binding position from auto, to top binding. If it already set to top then change it to left. This is usually the setting that will cause the duplex pages to print properly when duplexing on the C451. If it does not work you can try left or right binding but top binding I am sure will fix this for you. I have run print jobs in the last week or so where I had to make the same change to my C450.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Have a canon b95 faxphone machine. When receiving legal size documents, it receives and prints on 2 separate sheets. How do I correct so incoming only prints on 1 legal size paper

Use the settings to select LGL as the paper size. (But note that you have to have legal size paper in the machine)

1. Press the Function key (left side, lower right button)
2. Press the Start/Copy key (right side, lower center button). The display will show USER SETTINGS.
3. Press the Left or Right arrows (right side, upper row) until you see PRINTER SETTINGS in the LCD.
4. Press the Start/Copy key
5. Press the Left or Right arrows until you see PAPER SIZE in the LCD.
6. Press the Start/Copy key
7. Press the Left or Right arrows until you see LGL
8. Press the Start/Copy key
9. Press the Stop key (right side, lower right button).

Kyocera Mite KM-1510 printing on half pages instead of full pages

It sounds as if the paper size at the machine is set incorrectly. Try checking to ensure you cassette or bypass if that is where you are printing from is set correctly.

Piece of Paper stuck inside

Sounds like it could be a bit of a label stuck on the transfer belt. Open right side cover and undo the 2 screws located about 2 inches below the fuser, then open left side cover and remove the waste toner bottle and then slide out the transfer belt.
Remove paper and wipe over the belt with a soft damp cloth. If it is a label you will need to use an alcohol cleaner to remove the sticky residue (isopropyl should do the trick)

Good luck

Missing the manual - how to collate??

By using the Duplex button on your machine, you can set the machine to
print copies on both sides of paper.
1 Press Duplex.
2 Load originals face up in the ADF.
3 Press the Scroll buttons until the binding option you want appears.
Off: Prints in Normal mode.
1->2Side Short: Prints pages to be read by flipping like a note
pad.
1->2Side Long: Prints pages to be read like a book.
2->1Side: Scans both sides of the original and prints each of them
on separate two papers. (SCX-6322DN only)
2->2Side: Scans both sides of the original and prints them on both
sides of a paper, this function produce exactly the same print out
from the original. (SCX-6322DN only)
2->1Side Rotate2: Scans both sides of the original and prints one
of them on separate two papers, but the information on back side
of the original is printed 180° rotated. (SCX-6322DN only)
4 Press OK to save your selection.
If the mode is enabled, the Duplex button is backlit.

Collation

You can set the machine to sort the copy job. For
example, if you make 2 copies of a 3 page original,
one complete 3 page document will print followed by a
second complete document.
1 Press Copy.
2 Load originals face up into the ADF.
For details about loading an original, see
page 5.1.
3 Enter the number of copies using the number
keypad.
4 Press Menu until Copy Feature appears on the
bottom line of the display and press OK.
5 Press OK when Copy Collation appears.
6 Press the Scroll buttons to select Yes.
7 Press OK or Start to begin copying.
One complete document will print

Printing crooked from one drawer, and no option to print from another drawer

Try this spray on a little WD40 on the GLASS and wipe it off.
Yes, you heard me correctly, make sure you wipe it off leaving no residue, but it's still slippery.
the problem may be coming from the glass being too dry and the paper is getting stuckand shifting.
If the paper itself was going crooked it would get jammed or ripped. There is no room for the paper to go through the path crooked so the only way for it to copy crooked is somewhere in the optics.
try doing 1-2 on the glass itself and see if it copies crooked.
The envelope tray is a By-pass tray and can be used for any size paper. You can switch which tray it copies from on the panel tray button.

Legal Sized 2-sided Copies through Automatic Feed

Does the copier print correctly when copying off the glass? I suspect that the document feeder has been set up to feed other paper sizes eg A4, A4R. Because of the conflict between sizes the copier adjust the image.
