Sight in rifle and put the on top turret with zero facing back.do not let knob"click".Aim at animal and adjust power(3-9etc)until body is bracketed by both crosshairs.Look in little window in eyepiece for type of animal.Click top turret to proper yardage(200,300etc).This allows for bullet drop.I've had one on a .270 for 30 yrs and never used this feature.

Cannot get to the bull's eye. rifle shoots 2" to right of bull's eye. after two full turns left on windage - nothing happened. I',m ready to return to the store. Any help???

continue to adjust the wind-age. If your problem persists I would suggest turning both to a random point and re-start sighting the gun. If that does not fix the problem return the sight because this most likely means the wind-age is disconnected.

Simmons 8x32-44ao rifle scope

Is that the "Prairie Master"? I think Simmons is pretty uniform in that range of scopes--elevation adjustment should be the top dial and windage is on the side. The zoom locking ring should be in front of the eyepiece, with the zoom ring just forward of that.

You can download a generic Simmons scope manual from the Simmons site at this link: http://www.simmonsoptics.com/downloads/manuals/archive/HSI_Simmons%20Generic%20Scope%20Adjusting%20Instructions.pdf

The magnification adjustment ring on my Gamo Whisper worked fine at first, then was stuck between 3X and 5X. Now it is free again but the scope is not focused on the 3X and 9X settings, but is clear on 5X...

I'm not familiar with the scope, is it an air rifle scope? One stroke type? If not, the backwards recoil of the air rifle is tough on a normal scope, they aren't made for that type of abuse. They work fine with a normal recoil. That is why they started making air rifle scopes. I'm sure that the internals of your scope are damaged somewhat, you can take off the eyepiece no problem, you might find something in there, loose screw, missing screw, you never know, don't get too carried away with the dis-assembly, you'll never get it back together. It sounds like the magnification ring is messing with the focus of the eyepiece. Might just need some oil. Hope this helps.

I have to use reading glasses to use a simmons blazer rifle scope.....othewise the image is blurry.

You can't see the cross hairs or the whole picture is blurry? I know that the rear ring on the scope will bring the cross hairs into focus, glasses or not, and the scope itself should be clear all the way down, I can't see a thing either without glasses and it has really hampered my shooting. It ain't no fun , it's frustrating. Try turning the rear eyepiece, see what happens, hope this helps.

Tasco scope

Sight in rifle.Put top(elevation)cap back on with the"0" facing back.Be careful not to make it "click"as this will change point of impact. The way this works is you aim at animal and adjust the power(3-9)until the animal's body is between the 2 lines.Look in the little window on eyepiece to see distance of selected animal. Then click top knob to the correct distance(200,300,etc.)This should raise bullet impact for that distance.I've had this scope on a .270 since 1980 and never used this feature.(I only bought it because the scope was on sale)

i dont realy understand what you mean by "the cross hairs wont adjust" is it you have ran out of adjustment on the turrets? if so try packing the scope out with 35mm film under the body of the scope and reclamping it,,,or do you mean it just wont adjust?
the tesco rifle scope is a realy cheep scope its a throw away kind of thing if it brakes,,,,there only £50 or so,,,,if it was a £1500 scope its worth fixing

Are you looking set the eye relief or the focus ring?

For eye relief you need to loosen the scope in the rings, mount the rifle to your shoulder with your standard hold and cheek weld. At this point, slide the scope back and forth in the rings until you obtain a full field of view. Tighten one of the rings slightly, dismount and remount the rifle several times to ensure correct adjustment. Level scope and tighten rings a final time.

For focus adjustment (remember that you are using the eyepiece to focus on the cross hair, not your target!) loosen the lock ring and turn the eyepiece until the cross hair is focused. It is best if you check it several times by closing and opening your eye several times. The crosshair should be instantly in focus. If your eye must adjust, then you need to refocus until the focus is instant.

The two dials on the scope are for adjusting the bullet point of impact. They will typically move POI 1/4 inch at 100 yards.
