Also make sure to clear out your Internet Explorer files. Open Internet Explorer, go to Menu (at the bottom) -> Tools -> Options, then the Memory tab, and select the Delete Files button. It will clear up memory and maybe enough to run the camera and/or other apps.

Make sure there are not too many running programs on task manager on top of what you just did and you should be fine

Cannot open camera, keep shown another application is running. close it, and then start the camera. but no other application is running.

Remove the battery, memory card. replace the battery after 15 minutes.. Now check your media files and clear off unwanted files. clear any MMS received.
If the camera now reponds well insert memory card after getting it scanned in your PC for errors.
If not the camera software must be reloaded.

cameras : My Camera Freezes When I Turn It On Or Take A Picture

P, td, li {font-family: arial, u; font-size:9pt; margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px; word-spacing:1px;} If you camera freezes when you power it on or when you try to take a picture, you may have a defective memory card. To test your camera and the memory card, follow these steps:
  1. Power off your camera.
  2. Remove the battery from your camera. If you have a memory card inside the camera, remove that as well.
  3. Clean out any dust or debris inside the battery compartment, and then re-insert the battery into your camera.
  4. Power your camera on without the memory card installed.
  5. Take a picture.
    • If your camera takes a picture, re-install the memory card, and then go to Step 6.
    • If it does not take a picture, your camera requires service. To set up service, click the Create Online Service Request button below.
  1. Format the memory card in the camera, and then take another picture.
  2. Important: Formatting erases all pictures and other data from the card. If you have pictures on the memory card you want to keep, download those pictures to your computer before you format the memory card.
    • If your camera does not take a picture with the formatted memory card installed, replace the memory card.
    • If the issue still persists after you’ve installed a new memory card, your camera requires service. To set up service, click the Create Online Service Request button below

Lens was stack and wont open

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty) 3. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. I really hope this will work for you, but unfortunantly often when the product is dropped a mechanical problem appears. And there is nothing more than to order an OoW repair for this fault and model is 48 pounds. My camera will power on for a second and the lens will come out then goes back in and shuts off..

Here's what worked for me (eventually):
  1. Tried the cleaining to no avail.
  2. Made sure the charger was Ok - it was
  3. Tried a new battery in camera shop that had been charged for 15 mins (I know it's not long but it shoudl at least open) - didn't work.
  4. Cleared off the memory card (there was a 0 byte JPG on there) but still didn't work. You can't see the internal memory via USB it seems until you can get into the menu so couldn't clear that.
  5. Performed the firmware upgrade as on other posts - http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=11647/11660&product=EKN033563 - still didn't work.
  6. Bought a new battery and charged it - didn't work straight away.
  7. I put the camera back on charge, then removed the battery etc. and had to try opening it several times before it finally started up. As soon as I got into the menu I reformatted both the internal memory and the memory card and now it all seems fine!
I'll be taking a spare camera with me for a while though so I don't miss any magic moments.

Good luck!

I have a Kodak Easyshare C180 digital camera. I open ity, take a picture and then it closes. I then cannot get it open again. I see the on/off button but nothing happens

Is the camera LENs won't retract? Try to use a brand new different recomended batteries like alkaline batteries or lithium batteries. If your using a rechargable batteries make sure that they are fully charge. You can also try to turn the camera ON without using memory card. Remove the memory card on the camera. Then put a new recomended battery, try to turn it ON if the camera will not turn ON or stay ON call kodak support line. Support in English and Spanish is available at 1-800-235-6325 (23KODAK)

Make sure that you are installing a fresh/ full charge battery
Remove the battery
Clean the metal contacts on the battery using a clean cloth

Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. If not you will need to order a No power repair.

My camera fell & when i tried to open it it says memory card error

Digital cameras are very sensitive to drops/falls. 2 things possible, 1 try removing and reinserting the card hopefully that clears it up, if not take the battery out and allow it to reset for about 30 sec. If either of these doesn't solve your issue Your next step is camera shipping.

Hello, I just recently put eight rolls of film at Wal-mart to be developed. All of the pictures did not take. All the negatives were clear. What could have caused this to happen. I did not know that there...

tcwat67,

the battery you mention is used for memory back up. when you change the main batteries this battery keeps the memory from needing reset. if the film is completely clear the film was not exposed to light. now if the film was transported and the meter and LED was working then the shutter was not opening, an easy check----- just take the lens off and fire the shutter a few times. the shutter may not fire if the film door is opened.
if the shutter is not opening it must be replaced, if you can find a camera repair shop that fixes vintage camera's any parts replaced will be good used.
