Question about Nikon D5000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I am not very adept with my camera, a NIKON D5000. I only use the basics to take the pictures. Unfortunately, I have been taking pictures on the food I cook, and all of them are blurred. What do you think is the problem? Thanks BETH

For quite a while now,you have to hold the picture taking button down about half way for it to focus. Then take the pic by pushing the button the rest of the way.If that doesn't work, let me know and I will try to find an operation manual online.Just comment here and i will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.Greg

How to operate remote control

That's up to you. The camera offers two remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide your hand behind your back before firing the shutter.

Full details are in the "Self-Timer and Remote Modes" section of the manual (page 67 in my copy).

The Nikon D5000 must be set in "Live View" mode before you can use the rear monitor to take photos. There is a button that says "LV" to the right of the LCD screen that sets Live View to on or off.

Nikon D5000, when I try to take a picture everything is blurred and of course as a result the picture is as well.

Hi, the focus indicator LED lights, and some part of the scene is in focus, but not the object of your photo (af afs central area).
This is perhaps a back focus problem and needs service from Nikon to make the correction.

Set the camera's release mode to one of the two remote modes. The quick-response mode takes the picture when you press the button on the remote. The delayed mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before taking the picture.

I believe you're hearing the VR in the lens adjusting. Try turning the VR off and see if you hear the sound. If not, then you have a normal operating lens.
