Hi,
When this happens the most common cause is a bad compressor...
Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out thelast two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...

SOURCE: frig trips circuit breaker

Hello gonzomg69,
The two other comments posed at you from Blue Dog and 20YRSEXP are good ones and necessary to get to the root cause of the problem however I have a few ideas to share with you that may help.. First off, I am assuming that the circuit breaker you mention is the one that protects the outlet that feeds your fridge power. If thats correct, and you just started to have breaker trips, the obvious question is ..does that circuit breaker also supply power to other receptacles and do those have any additional appliances or 'loads' on them that are drawing current? The circuit breaker current rating is based on the wire size so that regardless of what you plug into a receptacle, that breaker limits current so you won't melt the insulation or have a fire. Also, you should be aware that circuit breakers do go bad and that may be your problem too..
I hope this information helps you...
Regards,
Rick

SOURCE: Fridge keeps tripping the circuit breaker

Unless there is a dedicated circuit of 20 amps to the refrigerator this will continue to happen When your refrigerator goes into defrost and other things like lights fans air conditioners are on the same circuit it will have no choice to not trip the breaker. Try this turn the breaker off and how may thing in your house stop working? You need a 20 AMP circuit or this will possibly damage the compressor or weaken the breaker because it has tripped so many time. Thanks, Please rate my solution, I have done this work for 30 years. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Keeps blowing circuit breaker

It could be the circuit breaker, those do sometimes go bad, but it could certainly be something plugged into that circuit pulling more current than it should. Try disconnecting everything on that circuit. Does the breaker still pop? No? Plug one thing in. Pop? If not, keep going until you find the one that's a problem, and check the total amount of current all the devices you have plugged in use.

Most standard plug circuits are only rated at 15 amps. For example, a toaster may pull 12, a hair dryer 10. You can't run both at the same time on one circuit.

Control panel lights not working and none of the buttons resond

Power? Has circuit breaker popped? Possible you have ground fault protected outlets and one of them popped like a circuit breaker. It usually causes all outlets on that circuit to also disconnect. They have a reset button similar to other circuit breaker devices, so double check. If it pops again, you may have a serious electrical problem or appliance problem. Unplug all appliances plugin one at a time to discover bad appliance. If none are bad and you still have frig problem. Time to call an electrician. You may be able to verify frig via extension cord from an outlet outside the kitchen. That if lights and buttons work, then you know it's the kitchen circuit problem. If not you may have a major problem with the control panel itself. Time for an appliance technician.

Why did my treadmill stop abruptly while in use?

Your assumption is correct, if you have a household circuit breaker popping, you have a short or over current situation. If you have too many other things plugged into the same circuit you could be overloading that breaker. Depending on how your home is wired, you could have a few (older homes may have quite a few) outlets feed by a single breaker. If you have used the treadmill in that outlet (with the same items plugged into that circuit), the breaker it's self MIGHT be going bad (popping at too low of current).

For safety, inspect the power cord, for any damage, and be replaced if there is any.

If the power core is undamaged, I would try plugging the treadmill in another circuit. Choose an outlet that was not affected when the breaker popped. It you use an extension cord to get to another outlet, be sure it's rated for enough current. If it still pops the same breaker it's the same circuit, and you need to plug it in somewhere else (probably in another room). If a different breaker pops, then the short in in your treadmill. At this point you will need to know something about electricity to further isolate the short.

A circuit was out, which included tv and frig, moved frig everything went back on! what happened?

If the whole house power wasn't down, then you could have a circuit breaker that is flaky or a wire connection in the breaker panel or at one of the outlet boxes along the way from the panel to your outlets. If it happened once, it will happen again. I'd cycle the power at the breaker, just on general principles to make sure the movable components within the breaker are where they are supposed to be. If it happens again, I'd start at the breaker and check every outlet box in that circuit for a loose connection, either a screw or wirenut. Breakers aren't expensive to replace if you can't find any loose connections along the way.

Pops Circuit breaker when plugged in

Have you tried plugging it in to a different outlet? You may have too many things using that same circuit. Seems worth a try - hope it helps. We found that our fridge was using the same circuit as our washer and microwave and this kept it from popping the breaker after we used another outlet.

We moved our magic chef frig on the deck-plugged it into an outlet with too many thing running. The breaker tripped. Not the frig light comes on but the frig does not work. Is there a reset button? If so,...

There is no reset button.
Firstly turn the fridge off at the wall switch. Wait 5 minutes then switch the power back on. If the fridge still does not start then you have a problem with either the fridge electrical circuit has a fault or the circuit board fuse has blown.

No electrical power

You must find the reason the main breaker is popping ...

I'd start by unplugging everything and remove all breakers. Turn the main on ... does it pop? If it pops here look between the breaker panel and the end of your cord. Turn the power off - reinstall the first breaker - turn power back on. What happens ... keep doing this until the main or individual breaker pops - investigate that circuit to find your short.

If you get all breakers back in with out popping anything ... start plugging stuff back in. Something is shorting somewhere.

Let me know what you find please.

thanks
