Check manual what does it mean. If you don't have it, it can be battery problem in case of cordless tool or worn brushes (no matter if it is cordless or corded).

I have a makita dp3720 drill, i can't remove the chuck. what gives

Not the chuck apparently, This could well be reverse threaded, many drills are, some aren't. There is generally a screw in the bottom inside of the chuck and then the chuck itself can be threaded on.

How to change drill chuck for makita hp 2040

if its a reversible drill there will be a screw in the bottom of the chuck, open the jaws as far as they will go and you should see a screw head, it is a left hand thread so put the drill in low speed selector this will stop chuck turning as easily, then turn screw clockwise as your looking at the chuck, when its out put an allen key in and tighten up the chuck hit with hammer now in a anti clockwise direction it should unscrew. repeat in the reverse procedure to fit new chuck....

My porter cable 19.2v model 8605 battery charger

Porter Cable has not offered a replacement for their poorly designed 19.2V chargers. I had the same problem and happen to like my drill and circular saw. I found a universal charger called a model number CHUN-2420. Google it--I got mine for $27 plus shipping. All you need to do to make this work is splice 3 wires.

My charger is a PC model 8624, so the instructions might vary slightly between the chargers. Remove the six screws on the bottom of your PC charger. Remove the bottom section. Remove the screw(s) that attach the circuit card to the plastic housing. Disconnect the 3 pin white charging connector from the circuit card, and cutoff the connector. Discard the circuit card and power cord. Cut the 3 conductor (red/yellow/black) cable coming out of the Chun-2420 approximately 2' from the charger. Splice these three wires to the three wires in the charger housing that connect to your battery. In my situation, Red/Red, Yellow/Yellow, White/Black. To verify, red=positive, black/white=negative, yellow=temperature sensor. Wrap the red/yellow/black cable with electrical tape where it exits the PC charger through the power cord hole. Re-attach the bottom.

How to change the drill head

If you man changing the chuck, take out any drill bits and look down into the chuck. You will see a screw holding it on. On many drills this screw has a reverse thread so it loosens in the opposite way to regular screws. You have to undo this screw to remove the chuck, then fit a new one of the same spec or one suitable for the drill and reassemble in reverse order.

Need to replace chuck

Not entirely familiar with this model but most chucks are secured by a screw inside the chuck. Open the the chuck to its fullest aperture and look inside. There should be a centre screw ... it will be a left hand thread. Remove the screw. Hold the chuck firmly, reverse the drill. The chuck should unscrew from the shaft. Installation is a reversal of the removal procedure.

Can't remove the chuck on a drill.

There are one-way (non-reversible) and two-way (reversible) drills. Mine is one-way. Methods for chuck removal are different for these two types.
Procedure for one-way (non-reversible) drills:
Drills of this type have no chuck screw, so one have to hold the spindle with a wrench, than to sharply strike the wrench with a hammer to spin it off.
Procedure for two-way (reversible) drills:
Open the chuck up and in the bottom is a screw that holds the chuck on the shaft. The screw turns in a clock wise motion to be removed and then you can top the chuck off the shaft.

Dammaged chuck

Usually there is a screw inside the chuck, it is left hand thread, turn it clockwise to loosen. The chuck is also screwed on this is right hand thread. You will need to put the key or a punch in one of the keyholes and strike it with a hammer or mallet to break it free

Drill chuck locked up

Your problem is with the screw holding the chuck onto the shaft. That screw if a reverse thread and needs to be tightened in reverse direction.
