Question about Karcher 2500 PSI Pressure Washer

1 Answer

The handle leaks and seems to not have the tension on the handle. I have it apart and it seems like a tension string is broken but I can't see how it reconnects.

They don't offer parts for the trigger guns, you would just need to purchase a new trigger gun. There is a number of different trigger guns for these machines though, what is the model and part number of the machine that you have?

Guitar tuning peg seems like it might be broken it will tighten the string to a certain point then it clicks and its completely loose again...I'm new to guitar so I don't know If this is normal

It seems like you wound and tightened your string on the tuning peg loosley. Try wounding the string at least 4-5 times around the peg after you pass the wire though it and then after winding pass it through the hole again. Tighten well.
If that doesn't work your peg might be broken, but looking at it on the video seems that it's not, even though you can't see it clearly.
Try tightening the screws on the peg, since there's a lot of tension on the highest string and it might cause the peg to click back because the tension is too high and it's loose.

What size belt do i use if i remove the A/C compresser

There is a company which makes a bracket with another idler pulley on it for replace the A/c compressor. I believe it costs between $60 and $90 Dollars. Problem with replacing the belt with a smaller, shorter belt by eliminating a pulley is the RPM of the Alternator and the Power steering pump.

To make an explanation, if 1 loop of the original belt turns the Alternator once every 8 inches, then a 48 inch belt will turn the Alternator 6 times a cycle. A shorter belt will make more cycles around the crankshaft pulley, the Alternator and so forth.

This will increase wear. The Fan blade will spin faster and you can get less assist from Power steering if it is speed sensitive. Power steering may or may not be better at Parking and will surely flatten out more quickly at higher speeds resulting in high steering effort.

Without the conversion pulley, the Geometry for the spring loaded idler pulley may not keep enough tension on the shorter belt for proper tension.

But to measure for eliminating the pulley, just slip off the old belt and get a string with a loop on 1 end. Press down on the spring-loaded idler pulley and place the string around each pulley and then pull the end of the string through the loop until it is snug. Pinch off the position with your finger to where it seems that the tensioner is applying tension with more tension possible for a stretched belt.

Temporarily slide the end of the string off, secure a removeable knot, and then let the string handle some of the tension in the idler. Basically you are making a template for the correct belt length. If all looks well, the string can be fit on a belt sizer or just measure it. Remember the buy a belt with the same number of grooves.

Another thing to remember is the car will still try to adjust the engine idle for the A/C, sometimes even in the Defrost function, because that is how they are made. So you may have idling problems without the A/c.

I hope my solution has helped you.

Door will not open on hotpoint bwd 129 catch may be broken

Your door lock assembly needs to be replaced to open the door try the following procedure.

To open the door, get a piece of string and feed it into the door recess, work it around until both ends come out opposite the door handle.
Pull the string to the side and with your other hand pull the door open.
You will need to get a replacement lock assembly for the machine which isn't too hard to fit if you are a bit handy with tools.

I was using the lawn machine 31cc tiller today, the black handle with the string flew off (about 20 ft), I was able to re-thread the string back through the hole and handle but now I have no recoil. ...

You need to tension the spring also. On youtube donyboy73 has good video on how to do this and he shows you how to adjust string tension with the string still attached. I think it is in a video about Tecumseh engine/snowblower recoil starters. If you can not find it, let me know and I will write it out for you.

I pulled the starter rope out of the unit. How do I take the unit apart to re-wind the starter rope?

Take the cover off and look under it, you should see a plastic round disc that the rope winds on, You will need to locate the string and get it out of the cover where it passes through, once this is done, you will have to turn the disc the correct way to tighten spring ( you should be able to feel the pressure building as you turn, if not go other way, or the spring is broke, in wich case you need parts. If all is well, when you feel tension on it and have enough....not to much...just think about how much pull you had before it broke, because when the rope comes out it gets tighter towards full pull of rope, HOLD tension and put string through the hole on cover, once you have it through tie your handle back on, you should be able to release and jossle to get the rope back in the groove, Place on machine and see if you have enough tension that it will retract in cover when pulled and let go, if it does not you will have to repeat procedure, and tighten spring.....Do not get carried away with the loading of the spring......TIP you can shorten string if you just lack a little bit of it retracting in cover because it gets tighter when pulled out....Good Luck!

I have a Troy Bilt TBP6040 XP 4 cycle weed eater with the spring assist starting. The pull cord broke and I am trying to replace it but I can't seem to get the cord to go all the way back in. I need help....

I just had this same issue. I found out that you have to take the cord out of the handle then put the spool in. You then rotate the spool back in and align the spool with the spring and fish out the cord which will put a small amout of tension on it. You keep the tension on it and put the handle back on.

Bosch dishwasher

You have to remove the entire dishwasher from under the counter. Then locate the broken cable. There is a panel you need to remove to access it. It attaches to a spring which goes to the underside of the dishwasher. Not an easy repair. Need alot of patience for this but it is doable.
