I have an HP Photosmart c4795 printer and it has a mind of its own. There is an error code (?) of 824C1300 on the printer screen. Help

Hello rcassity. The error code you are receiving likely is the result of a problem with the printer's power adapter. Be sure to double check that the power adapter connected to the printer is the proper one and that the Voltage of the printer matches that listed on the cord. You can also try resetting the printer's power by following a few quick steps: Start by unplugging the power cord from the printer and then from the wall so that no charge is going through it. If the power cord connects into a power module (resembles a block) separate the cord from the module. After waiting for 15-20 seconds reconnect the cord to the power module. Then plug the power cord directly into the wall outlet. Continue by connecting the power cord to the printer.
Lastly, press and release the printer's ON/POWER button to power the printer back on. Be sure not to hold the power button down.
I hope this helps! Be sure to reply if this has not completely resolved your issue.

The printer is plugged in but does not turn on. The green light on the AC adaptor is on. I have tried a friend's AC adaptor and it did not work either.

I think it would be wrong to suspect a problem with the adapter wire if the same problem occurs with two adapters. Do both adapters work with your friends printer? If so one would suspect that the plug port on your printer is defective.

This is the advice from the manual:

Power button is not lit

1 Disconnect the power supply cord from the wall outlet, and then from the printer.

2 Plug the cord all the way into the power supply port on the printer. make sure it is well seated

3 Plug the cord into an electrical outlet that other electrical devices have been using.

4 If the Power button light is not on, press Power.

If this does not correct the problem and it is a new purchase I would consider returning it to the vendor. Otherwise you may need to have a technician Tto investigate and confirn that power is reaching the printerre and the problem lis elesewhere with a switch or posisbly you need to replace the power connector port on the printer.

I have a new printer and it has no power

Plug the printer straight to the wall power outlet, bypass any surge device or power strips. If still no power. Unplug the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. With the power cord still attached to the power adapter and the other end plugged in to the wall power outlet, the LED, found around the silver contacts on the adapter, should lit green. If it's not lit, make sure the power cord is properly secured in it. Otherwise, you're looking at a defective power adapter. If that's the case, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support and request for a new power adapter for your printer. They can send you one for free. If it's lit, plug it back in the printer in the right position. If it won't automatically power on, press the Power button. If that doesn't help, the problem might be on the printer itself. Again, if that's the case, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support. Hope this helps.

What specification is it for me to purchase

Your part should be Epson AC adapter A241B 15.2v 1.4A 30W. The power cord is a generic type cord common with printers and scanners, it should be easy to find if the power adapter doesn't come with one already. You may be able to find it cheaper somewhere online like Ebay.

No power

probably you already checked the following:

changed power cord
changed power source/outlet
checked for any obstructions inside the unit

check your warranty status (starts from the date of purchase)
no user-serviceable parts in there, unit is service/replacement bound

tip : having it repaired costs more than buying a new one
