Question about Dacor Kitchen Ranges

Open Question

First, how do I take apart the top section with the buttons, when the vent is in the down position, and nothing is working? Previously replace the buttons and the circuit board under them (myself) but they didn't line up properly because the vent is from 1990 and the new part is 2010. So I drilled some new holes in the board for the hubs on the button holder to fit, but it apparently wasn't the exact fit, as some of the lights go on, intermittently, but nothing goes up or down or sucks. So, first things first.....how do I get the vent to the raised position so I can take it apart for another go round? Thanks.

SOURCE: control buttons inconsistent

Usually the buttons themselves are the problem. The little contacts on them that connect the gold terminals on the board you replaced get dirty or wear out. If you are not getting any erratic operation (up and down on its own or locking itself in child lock etc. ) then I'd bet you just need a row of buttons to go with your new board. just as a note, the control boards down below are quite failure prone, so if you are getting any other weird operation, i would suspect that instead. they have redesigned the entire board to be more reliable, if that tells you anything. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Dacor Raised Vent Buttons reply, sc58@aol.com

There are two small screws on the bottom of the top lip. Remove them and pull out the endcap inserts. The top shoudl then pull up with maybe some light force. Then you can get to all the bottons.

SOURCE: More button doesn't work, but less goes to 350 and under.

I have had this same problem, you have to remove the back of the unit on the control panel and push the board back into place. It is very sensitive and pops out easily. My most recent problem now is that the broiler is turning on by itself; be careful of this next issue. Not sure how to solve this yet!

Fridge is freezing food

Make sure nothing fell below your crisper, deli drawer section. There are some air return vents below them and if they get partially obstructed would allow cold air to pool in the bottom of the fridge.
Make sure your freezer control did not get turned up too high.
Also you may want to check with the manufacturer as they did have some issues with some of the bottom mount models exhibiting this problem and they developed a repair kit for them.

Wont turn on... balck screen... when i hooked it up to my computer nothing happened... tried the lock button, power button, and the wheel... still nothing

Hi, I just learned here that you have to do TWO things to get it to turn on. One, make sure the slider is in the On position. Then press and hold the play button (top one on the wheel) for 3 seconds. Worked for me, when previously the only way I could get it to turn on was to hook it up to a power source (wall or USB), which sounds slightly different than you. Hope it works anyway!

Disassembling the remote control of samsung le-26r73bd/xeu, some of the buttons seem not to be working anymore, so I need the manual to where the pins, which are holding it together are, so I won't brake...

Start at the fat end of the remote by inserting a thin flat screw driver between the grey and black edges of plastic. As you move down you'll feel the driver enage into a gap. At this point lever up the black plastic. Continue around the fat end of the remote releasing it from the catches, work yourself around until you reach the top end prying apart the catches of the remote. Now you can remove the two sections apart.

To remove the keypad you'll need to pry another catch that holds the keypad down at the top near the IR diodes. TAKECARE not to damage/break the catch, it was a very thin piece of plastic in my remote and broke off when I tried to replace the key pad. In my case I used some tape to hold down the keypad inside the remote housing. Clean the PCB where is makes contact with the silicon keys and replace. Now replace the two sections of the remote alighning the catches which now snap together.

There is a switch located behind the lamp vent panel on the back of the set. Remove the vent panel and hold this switch in the down position while you turn the set on. The set should stay on as long as this switch is in the down position. If the set stays on, check the inside of the cover you just removed from the set. Locate where the switch rests against it and make sure that it is not broken. When you reinstall the vent cover, lay it flat against the back of the set and slide it down so it can catch the switch on the way down. Most times this switch will come loose and flip up while moving the set. Or if you just replaced a lamp and didn't get the switch back in the right position.

Refrigerator problem

3 most common things that cause this are a defrost problem (will notice frost build up on back freezer panel), bad evaporator fan motor (should hear fan running in the freezer), or bad damper (vent to the fridge section). If no frost and fan is running check for air flow out of the vent. It should be at the top of the fridge section.

Fridge freezer not cooling from new - buttons not working

Sounds like an air flow problem from the freezer section to the refer section. Check that nothing is blocking the air vents, and that the dampers are operating properly (they control the flow of air). Of course if it's under warranty... call the service techs out.
