Question about Epson Stylus CX5000 InkJet Photo Printer

Epson CX5000 All lights are flashing!

Out of nowhere, all the lights on my Epson CX5000 started flashing and I cannot do a thing now. I found the ink carriage (far right, where the heads park) was stuck in the down position. I freed it up, but it still won't initialize. It turns on and goes back and forht slowly about two times then starts the flashing lights. There must be a "code" I can use to clear this??

Thanks,

Cliffrad

Ink ligth still flashes

is Just the ink light flashing? if so, you might have gotten something , ( body oil or something else) on one of the green with gold "dot" chips on the end of the cartridge. clean it with a pencil eraser or bette r yet alcohol and replace in printer- hopefully you haven't bent any of the "springy" wires that touch those green chips inside the printhead- then it's a trip to the repairman

How to resit the cartrage of cx500

ill be happy to assist you on that.
sorry but there's no cx 500, maybe cx5000.
anyway,
1. Make sure the CX5000 Series all-in-one is turned on. 2. Make sure that the document cover is closed, then open the scanner. 3. Press and release the maint.5.10.2.jpg ink button. The On and maint.5.10.3.jpg ink lights flash. Note:
Do not hold down the maint.5.10.4.jpg ink button for more than 3 seconds or the printer will start to clean the print head. If one of the cartridges is low or expended, the CX5000 Series moves that cartridge to the maint.5.10.5.jpg expended ink mark. Go to step 4. If no cartridges are low or expended, the ink cartridge holder moves to the ink replacement position. Go to step 5. Caution:
Do not move the print head by hand; this may damage the CX5000 Series. Always press the maint.5.10.7.jpg ink button to move it.

INK DOES NOT FLOW. HOW TO CLEAN INK AREA.

Hi there,

Here is a few steps to clean the print head of your printer.

1. Make sure the CX5000 Series all-in-one is turned on but not printing, and the ink cartridges are not low or expended.

2. Right-click the printer icon on your taskbar (in the lower right corner of your screen). Select Head Cleaning.

3. Click Start or Next.
Cleaning takes several seconds. The CX5000 Series runs a head cleaning cycle and the On light flashes.
Caution:
Never turn off the CX5000 Series while head cleaning is in progress. You may damage it.

4. When the On light stops flashing, make sure paper is loaded in the CX5000 Series, then do the following:
Windows:
Click Print Nozzle Check Pattern. Then click Print.

5. If there are no gaps or lines, click Finish.
If there are still gaps or lines, or the test patterns are faint, click Clean to clean the print head again.
If you don’t see any improvement after cleaning three times, refer to Problems and Solutions. You can also turn the printer off and wait overnight. This lets any dried ink soften. Then try cleaning the print head again.

Tip:
If you do not use your CX5000 Series often, it is a good idea to print a few pages at least once a month to maintain good print quality.

Espon cx5000 printing problem

Try to reinstall your printer.

Check if you have installed the ink cartridge properly.

Clean your print head.

Make sure you are installing a original Epson ink cartridge and not just a refill ink.

Red lights flashing. I dont think the ink is out and i did try taking them out following the instructions and put the same ones back in but it still won't print and the light is still flashing, will it...

Printer wouldn't print if red light flashing. Check status monitor for detail? Are some ink not recognized? Do replacement procedure from status monitor on "How to...". Unplug all ink tank. Plug only one ink tank . See status monitor. Is ink tank recognized. repeat procedure, and add ink tank 1 by 1. How about status monitor then?

Catridge won't go to right position

Please follow the steps below to replace one or more cartridges.
NOTE: It is necessary to have all four ink cartridges installed and supplied with ink in order for the unit to function properly. The unit will be in an OFFLINE state if the any of the cartridges are expended. This is a protection feature of the unit, to prevent air from being pumped through the print head.
Once you start the ink cartridge replacement procedure, you must complete all the steps in one session.
**NOTE** To avoid damaging the unit, NEVER move the print head by hand.
1. Make sure the unit is turned on, and not printing. The POWER light should be on, but not flashing.
2. Lower the OUTPUT tray, and lift the scanner portion to access the ink cartridges.
3. Press and release the INK button. The print heads will move to the left, and the cartridge that needs to be replaced will stop directly beneath the OUT OF INK symbol. Make a note of which cartridge requires replacement.
4. Press and release the INK button again. If more than one ink cartridge is empty, the next cartridge will move under the OUT OF INK symbol. If no other cartridges are out of ink, the print heads will now move to the REPLACEMENT POSITION.
5. Open the CARTRIDGE COVER. Pinch the front and back tabs of the empty cartridge as you lift it out of the unit. Dispose of this cartridge.
6. Before you remove the new cartridge from its package, shake it four or five times.
7. Remove the new cartridge from its package, and lower it into the cartridge holder. Push down gently until the cartridge clicks into place.
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for each cartridge that you need to replace. Close the
CARTRIDGE COVER once all of the necessary ink cartridges are replaced.
9. Carefully lower the scanner, until it clicks into place
10. Press and release the INK button.
The ON light flashes and the printer makes noise. Charging takes about 30 seconds. When it's finished, the ON light stops flashing and stays on steady.
Caution: Never turn off the EPSON Stylus printer while the ON light is flashing, unless the Stylus printer hasn't moved or made noise for more than 5 minutes.
