Computer charges but doesnt want to start up

Remove battery
unplug power cord from laptop
press and hold power button for a least one minute while power cord and battery are removed
insert power cord only
turn on laptop
laptop should turn on without battery installed
if it does not turn on you probably have some motherboard issues
.......
then install battery if it still does not turn ...and try to turn on
it still may turn on...I have seen stranger things happen with computers

you may also want to try another power cord if you have an extra...the power cord may not be allowing enough power to travel thru cord

Replace dryer cord

There should be a cover where the cable goes into. Look at your old dryer - notice where the red, black, white and green cables go to - they should be marked. Compare those to your new dryer. With the power cord unplugged from the wall, remove the cord from the old dryer and install on the new one. The cord should have terminals already installed - you will need a socket to remove the nut holdng the terminals down.

If the power cord is really old and the insulation cracks when you bend the cord, replace the cord.

Cut power cord for Sony Bravia kdf-50e3000

I am not sure what you are asking. If the cord is to be replaced, in some cases a computer cord is compatible. You may remove the female end and insert a computer power cord. Many of these flat screen TVs do have a removable power cord. In the case this cord is attached internally, you will need to find a TV shop to replace it. If this is the case, they will be sure to install with correct polarity. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

I need to reconnect the power cord to the back of the dryer. I need to know which slot gets the neutral wire.

The following link explains in detail how a power cord is to be installed and the differences between the 3 and 4 wire configurations:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575913-installing_a_220_vac_appliance_cord

There is a difference in how the power cords are installed. Pay particular attention to how you have the ground and neutral wires terminated. If installed incorrectly, the dryer may not run, you could damage the appliance or you could create an electric shock hazard. If you have questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

I don't see a power cord - does it need to be hard wired?

Many appliances do not come with a power cord. This leaves the option to the consumer to either hard wire to a terminal box, or purchase and install a power cord. You can purchase a three-prong power cord from any major hardware store. Power tool replacement cords work best, because they handle current well and have thick insulation to prevent chaffing. A good 15 to 20 amp cord is recommended. Whether you hard wire, or add a power cord that you can simply plug in, the wires as terminated as follows (U.S. Standard):

WHITE - NEUTRAL
BLACK - HOT (120VAC)
GREEN - Ground - terminate to ground lug

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

New house has three prong recpticle dryer cord has four prongs. Can I use a three prong cord and strap a wire to the fourth wire on back of dryer? If not got a solution?

If the new house has an existing three-wire outlet, the simplest solution is to install a 3-prong power cord on your dryer. The following link explains the differences between a 3-wire and 4-wire configuraiton:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575913-installing_a_220_vac_appliance_cord

So...if you need to install a 3 prong power cord, it should be wired as follows:

RED (HOT) 120VAC to RED
BLACK (HOT) 120VAC to BLACK
WHITE (NEUTRAL) 0 VAC to WHITE - a Ground wire needs to be connected to the Neutral lead at the terminal block and grounded to the dryer cabinet.

The other alternative would require you to install a 4-wire receptacle so you could still use your current power cord. A certified electrician is recommended for this job and may cost you some money. A replacement power cord, on the other hand, usually costs less than $20 and can be found ay any hardware store.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

I need a new power cord. I took out the back and

The power cord (E901 which plugs into P901) Hitachi part # for this model is EV00851 but it would not be commonly stocked since most repair shops would repair the cord. The repair would be done by either splicing a new cord on to the old one or unsoldering the old cords plug receptical (P901) and installing a new generic cord in its place - either way observe the polarity -white wire to thick blade of cord. Post back if you need more info (I may have a used cord)
