Whirlpool Duet washer FH code "sometimes"

This washer is nuts. ALL THE CHECKS ON THE LIST HAVE BEEN PREFORMED SO DON'T POST THE LIST AS A SOLUTION BECAUSE IT'S NOT!!! Washer may do 20 or 30 loads with no problem then BOOM here comes the "fh" again. Reset, and then fine for several loads or many loads . All components, connections, hoses and tubes on the list have been checked, cleaned, dianostics have been run and everything passes. Please give me a solution that is helpfull.

YES.. all items on the check list have been preformed! No water restriction anywhere, and also note that no low pressure during wash times. Note #2 MC was replaced 6 months ago and problem went away till 2 weeks ago.

yeah some times 2 loads sometimes 3 loads then about 5 minutes in fh code flashes I checked everything, then it starts to drain

I have the same problem!!! Resetting is a joke. I've never had such a peice of **** in my life. Every six months it's something electrical. Six months ago F11 kept coming up. They said they had to replace the door latch, CCU, and interface. That was $250.00 later without labor. Now it's the FH code. We had low pressure coming into the house from remodeling but now we don't so resetting it should've done the trick. I called whirlpool and all they said was they could refer some technicians in our area to fix it.

The dreaded FH11 code is coming up again. Does someone have a copy of the service manual so I can start working through fixes

  • Ajaxon Nov 17, 2008

I had same FH problem today. It went away after I removed the "grit" that had obstructed about 40% of the cold water input screen where the hose screws onto the back of the machine. I assumed that was why the "downey softener" was not washing fully out of the input drawer and the detergent was. This all started after my well pumped dry and flushed a bunch of grit into the machine. (as evidenced by a very dirty detergent drawer). Reset of FH and unlock of door was biggest problem. I had to push Pause cancel button with control on button for about a minute straight. I dont have list of error codes or manual either.

No water detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected.
If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then
valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed.
Or
If the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has
detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure
switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash.
Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
Potential Causes
• If there is no water in the unit:
• Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
• Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves
• Verify inlet valve operation
• If there is water in the unit:
• Verify Drain pump operation
• Pressure Switch Hose is in good condition and properly connected to Tub and
Pressure switch
• Verify there is not a siphon problem
• Verify wire harness connections to; Inlet Valves, Pressure Switch, Drain Pump,
Flow Meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
• Check all hoses for possible leaks
• Verify pressure switch operation
• Verify flow meter operation
• Verify CCU operation

I have a 6mos. old Duet Sport Washer in a vacation home. Was working great! Then one day, not so much. Would "start" by sitting, then water would come in for 20 secs. sit... sit... 2 minutes later more water, may spin a little, sit.... sit.... After about 5 minutes, it would just shut off!

Had A&E come out. Replaced water sensor. Nothing. Replaced 2 control boards. Nothing. On 4th visit, the guy claims it is my home wiring (not covered under warranty after 30 days!) Had an electrician out but found nothing wrong.

Well.... I had an epiphany today and will test this Monday when I have time...

We installed a Geothermal System and updated our 20-y.o. electrical box. When the Geothermal system is running, the water pressure is lower (not significantly) but I am wondering if it is enough to cause the washer to shut down? If that is the issue, I will gladly do laundry when not running system if I know it will work reliably otherwise. I just wanted to share this for those who may also have similar issue. I will try to post my findings...

If I hadn't been fixing stuff myself, I'm sure the added labor would've driven this machine to 2 or 3 times the resale price. Used to be intermittent FH, never knew when it tripped. Now it is so regular, I watched the cycle and it appeared to be getting too much water before tripping. Since the pressure switch is so cheap and easy to replace, it only makes sense to replace it first.

Hi. Got some info about the FH error from Whirlool service manual.

F/H

No water detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected.

If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed.

In my experience the CCU is the problem (control board).

IF the machine has water! If not, check water valve, hose, water tap.

Do it overfill? If thats the case, the pressure switch is gone, its hose has a leak.

Hope this helps you

Whirlpool ghw9150pwo flashes FH

Hello,

The FH error code means the computer on the control board didnt detect any water entering the washer..sometimes it doesnt detect the water entering because the filter screens on the water inlet valve are clogged with sediment and water is having a hard time entering the washer.

The filter screens can be checked by turning off water at the faucets and disconnecting the fill hoses from the back of the machine and pop the screens out of where the hoses connect at the washer and check for blockage in them. If they are found to be clean, check the water coming out of the hoses before connecting them back to the washer...if the screens are clean and water pressure is good out of the hoses the part of the washer called the FLOW METER would need to be replaced

Light is blinking FH

The FH code on the Whirlpool Duet washers indicates that the unit is not detecting water fill at the flowmeter. The flowmeter sits right in front of the water inlet valve and is attached via a hose and is off to the left of the central control unit (ccu). If the washer seems to be filling alright, check out the wiring from the flowmeter to the control unit. Make sure all connections are clean and tight. These connections have been known to jiggle loose and cause this code. Hope this helped and best wishes.
