Oil light and neutral light not working when the ignition is switched on

Hi, Michael if you have a dash or instrument light that is out and you have confirmed that the bulb is good then you need to do some quick diagnostics all you need is a test light and a wiring diagram usually found in the back of your service or owners manual.
1. Make sure your battery is fully charged with "CLEAN" and "TIGHT" connections and the instrument light fuse is not blown.
2. Inspect the bulb socket for corrosion and clean as necessary, a spray can of electrical contact cleaner and compressed air works the best.
3. Confirm your test light is working properly by connecting one end to the battery negative post and touching battery positive post with the sharp probe, the test light should illuminate.
4. With the ignition turned on confirm you have power to the bulb socket by connecting your test light to battery negative or ground and probe the center contact, the test light should illuminate if not you need to check the integrity of the switch or sending unit the light represents, if that is ok then you have a short in the wiring between the component and the light bulb, if all is ok proceed to the next step.
5. Confirm you have a good ground to the light bulb socket by connecting the test light to battery positive and probe any metal part of the socket housing, the test light should illuminate, if not you need to find the short and repair as necessary.
6. Inspect the integrity of the spring loaded positive contact insulation tab by pushing against it with your test light to see if it goes down and springs back fully to it's operating position again contact cleaner and compressed air works best to restore proper function.
7. If your bike has a lot of mileage the vibration can cause bulbs to become loose in the socket by wearing down the soldered contact thus loosing spring pressure from the tab and eventually stop making contact this can be fixed by replacing the bulb or putting a drop of solder on the worn out end to ensure contact.
8. If all of your dash lights are out but are good then you most likely have a faulty connection to the dash wiring harness, inspect the connector for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

The headlight of karizma is soo deam at night cant even see the road clearly i even check the fuse and the battery but it ok with that but i really want to know it might be the problem?

Corrosion on the spring contacts that touch the bulb may be a problem. Undo the retaining unit that holds the bulb in place and give it a good inspection - make sure the 2 springs are working ok and the contacts are clean.
Make sure the voltage and amps are correct on the replacement bulb.- these will be stamped on the bulb
If all is ok you need to check your earthing (ground) system is in good condition. Pay particular attention to the battery ground and the headlamp/lighting ground.

How do I get my Sentry Safe S3877 to open when one of the wire is dangling from the battery pack?

Check, you are connecting to the correct spot. That is the place the wire broke off.
It could be you only are using 2 or 3 from the four batteries. Then the voltage is always to low.
Then check you got the right batteries. Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries. They don't have enough capacity and can start leaking.

How do i know if a fuse is blown

fuses usually turn black when they blow.
If not get a car bulb use a bare wire to make contact with the bulb and battery. touch the other contact to the battery to verify bulb is working.
connect bulb to fuse contact
touch battery with unused fuse contact.
then connect bulb to other battery terminal with wire.
bulb should light if fuse is ok

easy way trade position with another fuse of the same color

Check the ground from motor to frame and ground wire from battery to body. These sometimes become corroded and will give intermittent problems.

Lighting systems

The headlamp bulbs in these vehicles have 2 filaments- one for high beam and one for low beam.

Remove the bulb- being careful not to touch the glass part (oils from your skin can get on the glass and can actually cause hot spots and shorten the life of the bulb). You can see there are 3 wires in the connector. One will be ground. Using a test light, hook the clip to the poistive battery terminal and touch the pointed end to the metal contacts for each wire in the connector. One should complete the circuit and light the test light- ground is ok then. Now put the clip of your test light on the negative battery terminal. Turn the headlight switch on- high beam. Touch the point of test light to the terminals again and one should light- that's ok. Now make sure that the last wire completes a circuit when the headlamps are on low beam. If this checks out, look at the bulb and see if one of the filaments is broken. If your electrical checks aren't ok, check fuses- these are most likely ok, leading to a headlamp switch.

Sentry s3877 battery compartment broke

I had the same problem with my Sentry S3877. I found the exact 4-battery replacement (with snap attachment on top!) at an online electronics.retailer, but had to purchase a lot of three. I don't need the other two, so I'll sell them for just $6 each to the first two folks to contact me mark@irregardless.net.

Oh, by the way, once the batteries went dead, you lost your combination! When you pop the new battery compartment in, the factory default combination will be in effect. That default combination is in your user's manual. I'm currently searching frantically for mine! Gee, how could I have misplaced it ... I just had it in my hands when I purchased the safe 10 years ago !!!

Anyone know the default combo for the S3877?
