Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S700 Digital Camera
When I try to turn the power on, it shuts off immediately. "Cyber-shot" appears in the window, then it beeps twice and turns off. I've tried new batteries i put new batteries in but it beeps once shows da cyber-shot screen and then it turns off but da lens stays out.
I also had this problem with my DSC-S730. Take the batteries out and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Get new name brand alkaline batteries. Warm them in your hands and insert them properly and close the battery door. Then hold the camera upside down so the batteries make good contact and press the review (>) button.

I had this problem with my DSC-S730. Try re-setting the camera. All you do is take the batteries out, then press the power button and hold it and count to 10. Then put the batteries back in. That worked for me!

Sounds like a battery power problem or problem with the terminal of the camera ; you know the point where the battery meets the camera.
I would recommend a service center
