Replaced ink cartridges and check ink cartridges still blinks

I have replaced my ink cartridges and the check ink cartridges along with the color light still blink. when i hold the cancle/resume button down and the color button down it will print off a test page perfectly. i know the cable that connets the printer to the computer is fine because i can scan papers from the printer to the computer... however, why wont it print anything off that i send to it? how can i fix this problem?

yes, it is the only printer i have on my computer and it is the default printer (with a green check mark)...

  • kysauter May 31, 2008

it prints off 2 pages... the first one has blue, red, and yellow at the top of the page with with some numbers and codes. they are listed off by number example 11. SN = MY548B319CO498 to 45. Code5 = f016f18f there is a line though the middle of the page breaking the top half off from the bottom half. the bottle half has the colors again along with different numbers and codes. the second page has sets of bars of lighter blue and brite blue....

hummm.... no :) how would i do that?

  • kysauter May 31, 2008

ok, ill try that . thanks :)

  • kysauter May 31, 2008

it did not help :( it's only been used once or twice and then put in storage for about a year. i just got a compaq presario pc tower about a week ago with windows vista and plugged the printer into the USB connection in the back of the tower, and the printer automatically came up with the computer. no other printers are on the computer and it says that this printer is the default one... and before i was doing the test page with the printer only ( by holding down the cancle/resume button and color button at the same time) but it will not print off a test page from the computer :( even when the printer isnt hooked up to the computer it still does that blinking light thing...

  • kysauter Jun 02, 2008

    Hello,

Have you checked in Printers that your HP is set as default? It will have a check mark on it.

If your software is installed correctly when your printer, connected via USB?, the printer icon in the system tray can be clicked and bring up the printer utility. From there or at the printer control panel you can instruct it to align and or clean the print heads.

Good. I think your software installation may be corrupted but I could be wrong now that you have the printer utility.

Normally, an HP printer always prompts to realign heads after replacing them, especially the 1510

    Hi,

I get it now. You need the Vista drivers for the 1510 and while I get you a driect link to that, go ahead and open Printers from the Start Menu and right click to delete the printer. You may be prompted with something like: "there are still files on your computer that may be needed later on. Do you want to keep them?" Respond no, this is the back door method to uninstall a printer. Still, you will want to use a program like RegScrub found at majorgeeks.com to scour your registry for errant and orphan entries. If you already have a program or want someting different Registry Fixer from AUS Logic is free, along with Ads to buy their other stuff, and this program does work rather well at compacting your registry which is basically the same thing.

Go ahead and do those things and I'll get you the direct link for the Vista drivers. When you install it, have the USB cable disconnected and only connect it when prompted to do so or after the installation is finished.

This is stuff you may already know and if so I apologize. We here really never know just what level an Asker's level of skills are with a PC.

    Kysauter,

Here is the link to the download page at HP. It is 157MBs. I would move it from your download folder and then make a copy to somewhere until your install is finished and working.

Remove the USB cable before you start the install and then connect it when prompted to and have your printer on though. Or, after installation is complete and you are or may be prompted to restart, connect it on the restart.

Don't buy Canon as they absolutely ROB you for the ink!! They are worse than ****** dealers! At least HP allows you to use non (rip-off) OEM cartridges without all the hassle! My printer will be thrown out after the ink runs out as I will not be ripped-off by Canon again!

Check color ink always blinks and does not allow to do any job.

Make sure that you installed the correct ink. It is not enough for it to fit, the numbers on the cartridge have to match those on the cartridges you replaced. You may also have problems with off brand ink that claims to work. Use Kodak ink. Also, many of the Kodak have the ink jet nozzle on the printer, not the cartridge. You can try cleaning in and around the cartridge casing, especially on the copper areas, with an alcohol swab. Then run the cleaning utility on the printer 2 or 3 times.

HP 932 RED LIGHT STAYS ON

The light you describe is the ink light.
When that light is blinking, try this.

Turn on the printer. Open the front cover and look at the carrier for the ink cartridges. There is a white arrow right above the latch for the color cartridge.
Once the carrier stops moving, the white arrow should be pointing to a symbol which represents the problem (the reason the light is blinking.) Examples are low ink black, low ink color, sick black ( replace ) , sick color ( replace ).

IF you have just replaced your black cartridge, you might need to replace your color cartridge too.
This printer will not work without both ink cartridges installed and full.
You cant print with a full black and an empty color cartridge unfortunately, even if you only want to print black.

Hope this helps!

Prnter kodak easyshare 5100

just to check, is what specific lights is blinking is it the check color or just check black inks??
-to make sure w/ this one is it blinking too fast or slow and what is the color?? check if the on and off is also blinking

-check black ink and check color cartridges blinking fast means no printhead installed

-check black ink and check color cartridges blinking slow, no cartridges installed

-check black ink and check color cartridges blinking w/ on and off ready to calibrate
(in ready to calibrate if doing nothing, just press cancel and

-press photo and cancel on printer, if not doing anything

-remove printhead( the one that holds the cartridges) turn printer on and off, put printhead back to printer w/ cartridges, and check the lights that is blinking

-press photo and cancel again
-if not doing anything, contact manufacturer
-goodluck
