The oiriginal Acer webcam was providied by the manufacturer as a software program to be used by microsoft! After the warranty expired, I installed windows 7 and the camera disappeared! What does that tell ya!
Try and restore the PC to an earlier restore point- open control panel>open restore back and choose the restore point and proceed.
After this is done reinstall the webcam drivers, if the drivers seems to be corrupt you need to download them from the official website of Lenova, install and run .
If none of these work it can be a failure of the hardware, the webcam or the linking cord.

Try a system restore from the point closest to the time before the last successful use of the web cam. Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore>(enter). This will bring up a window/wizard. You may have to check the box close to the bottom left, "Show more restore points" to find the date you need. Let me know if this fails to solve your problem.
Could you be a little more specific? Which model & operating system are you using? (windows xp?) The webcam should come with all the required software pre-installed or if windows has been reloaded you can download the drivers from the Acer support site. The Acer crystal eye webcams are known to be very temperamental though and can stop working for several reasons. One common solution if it was previously working is to move all the pictures out of the photo directory that they are stored in. Clearing this folder can bring the webcam back to life.
When you hit the power key also hit the F11 key keep pressing it until you get into the
recovery box
then follow on screen instructions
please back up all you files or pictures ist onto a disc or pendrive
because if you take it back to factory settings you will loose everything that you have put onto the

you will find the Acer Crystal eye webcam application and drivers stored in you computer.To Access it and to have the same installed,
click start and open a folder named as 'acer' listed in ' all programs '.You will find the ' Acer e-recovery managent ' in that folder.You can open it and click allow for the user account controls.Please click 'restore ' for the next screen and the select the third option ' re-install application and drivers'.open 'contents' in which you will have all the applications listed
If your laptop comes in with a built in webcam then youi don't have to worry because its pre-installed. ZIf you have YM messenger try to open your cam and I'm sure it will work. If the laptop doesn't have a built in Webcam then you have to install the cd inclusive of your product.
