I returned a camera to Vivitar Tech Support (N. J. address) on 9/7/10, insured and have never heard any response. What do you recommend? Is there a telephone?

Cant you get a response from where you bought it? Check your bank statements as to see who drew the money to pay for it. Sometimes online Companies have a "Parent" Business and their name would be on your statement which should assist in tracking down warranty problems.

To whom did you send the camera? FixYa neither repairs nor replaces cameras. The reference number you gave is not a FixYa number. Please contact the party to whom you sent the camera to inquire about the status.

I have a Vivitar ViviCamx024 camera wish I received as a xmas gift from my son I can't get the battery cover to go back on the camera and top part where holder is broke and the top were the power on and...


This camera ought to be under some kind of warranty if it is less than a year old, but I have no idea what that warranty might be. In the UK, normally within the first year you can return faulty items to the place where they were purchased for some kind of remedy. Elsewhere, you may need to apply to the manufacturer. You would need proof of purchase, and maybe the warranty documents, which your son may still have.

However, from your description of the problem, the retailer or manufacturer or service center may take the position that the camera has been damaged by dropping it or similar, which would not be covered by a warranty. Perhaps it would be covered under a household insurance policy.

Fixing an item like this is not always economic, particularly if you have to pay for it yourself. Even under warranty, the manufacturer will often just replace it with a new item rather than try to fix it. Perhaps you should look for a new camera, or let your son know that you are having another birthday this year!

If you want to return your camera you would have to talk to the manufactuer or the store you purchased it from.
