Question about RTO Safety Vacuum Release System - SR-500 Stingl Switch

1 Answer

Mine is to my spa pump. It does not give me an error message, and it does not beep, however, it does shut itself down and then randomly cycles through from "remote" to "timed" to "continuous". It tries to start again in the "continuous" mode, but then shuts off within 3 seconds. My spa is only 1500 gals. But this shuts everything down, heater as well, which isn't good on it to start and stop like that. We cannot figure it out.

Had similar problem with voltage cycling on and off on load side of stingl. I believe its a manufacturer defect. They pushed these things out so fast to meet new law that they didn't have time to test them properly. I'd contact the company for a replacement.

Pump keeps beeping error

...This thing is a medical IV feeder. Nothing to do with pool or spa, if you have this in a pool or spa you should talk to whoever put it in. But as it says on the screen its not reading anything feeding thru its lines. Probably a peristaltic pump and something is clogged into the lines before it or in the tube that pumps itself.

OH message showing on sundance spa sentry help!!!

If you are seeing OH and FLO codes, you need to shut it down at the circuit breaker, until it can be serviced. It likely needs a new circulation pump and the flow or pressure switch may be failing to shut down the heater causing the boiling

Hot tub pump stops and control panel says there is a flo problem

Yes a pump does have a thermal cut out. When the motor gets too hot the thermal cut out will activate and the pump won't restart until the motor has cooled.

If you were an electrician, or highly confident/competent with electrics, you could test the motor with a volt meter. Run the spa and as soon as the pump stops running, check the voltage at the pump. If there is voltage at the pump, then the thermal cut out on the motor has activated. Do not try checking this yourself if you're not competent to do so.

You could also do the same test at the spa pack if it's easier to do so, just locate the output to the pump.

What spa and which spa pack have you got?

Cheers,
Ian.
