After adding ingredients, plugged in bread maker and selected time. It beeped, but no mixer came on as usual. I unplugged and reset. Still no results. Please advise how to get it to mix and bake.

Some machines have a delay before they start kneading if they detect that the ingredients are not at the right temperature. Try waiting about 10 minutes after you pust start and see if it starts kneading. I have a Breadman machine that warms up for about 5 or 10 minutes and then starts kneading.

Bread Maker Model 1148x, error message E:E1, loud beeps What does this mean?

H:E1 means this:

"H:E1" is

displayed and

flashing with a

beeping sound

The breadmaker is too hot (over 100°F/40°C) to begin

preparing another loaf. Unplug the machine, remove the

bread pan with your ingredients, and wait until both the

breadmaker and the pan cools down - about 20 minutes - before
preparing a new loaf.

Need manual for jmb hb250 breadmaker and recipes

Using the JMB HB-250 Bread Maker
Those of you who have acquired the HB-250 bread-maker without a manual may require some advice on how to get started. I do not have a user or service manual but have used this machine for some time.

How to load the tin.
For this bread-maker to work flawlessly it is best to load the ingredients in the following order: A basic bread recipe is included as an example:

First Liquids. 300ml water
Second Flour. If you aerate it so much the better. 500grams
Third Ingredients in each corner:
salt / butter / milk powder (if desired) / sugar.
1 tps salt / 15 grms butter / 2 tps mik powder / 1.1/2 tps sugar
Fourth Yeast. Make an indentation in the centre of the flour and tip in the
contents of the sachet. Sachet is 7 grms.

You are ready to go. You can get loads of recipes by trawling the web.

Operation.
This is a very simple machine and it gets the job done without complications. It is what it is without all the bells and whistles. You must observe the cooking times because it is no good starting a whole-wheat loaf at 3:0pm hoping it will be ready for 5:0pm
There are six selections to choose from: Basic, W.Wheat, Sweet, French, Cake, and Dough. The approximate time cycles for each of the selections is as follows:
  • Basic 190min 3h 10m
  • W.Wheat 230min 3h 50m
  • Sweet 200min 3h 20m
  • French 210min 3h 30m
  • Cake 85min 1h 25m
  • Dough 75min 1h 15m
  1. Plug the unit into the wall socket and switch on. A long beep is heard and the green indicator above the ON/OFF switch is illuminated.
  2. Using the Select button press and choose the method for your bread. A green indicator will show you which selection you have made.
  3. Press the On/Off button to start the bread-maker. The chosen selection indicator will start flashing
Note: Once started the machine will continue to the end of the cycle.

Stopping the Bread-maker. To switch OFF or reset the operation press and hold the ON/OFF button until the machine resets and the selection indicator stop flashing. The machine is now in its OFF position. If required you can re-select a program or just switch off.

W. Wheat Selection - Using this selection the machine appears to do nothing when switched on. It will take 30 minutes before you hear the machine in operation. Do not assume it is not working it is. The heater slowly increases the working temperature required by the ingredients.

Once cooking starts - don't be tempted to lift the lid to see what is happening. Buy a high-powered LED torch and view the workings through the window on the top of the machine. Opening the lid destroys the internal temperature; this will cause your bread to deflate.

Adding extras: If you want to add fruits or olives etc to your loaf; wait until 8 beeps is heard then add. This will be approximately half way through the proving cycle

End of cycle: The Morse code for VICTORY (as 3 sets of dit dit dit dah.) is heard.

I have the ingredients in the bread maker. I plugged in the machine. I pressed "select." Then I selected the type of bread I wanted to bake. The baking time shows. I pressed "start." ...

press the stop button and hold it down for 2 seconds. unplug and choose your program again. Don't touch the timer buttons if you want to start the program right away.

Plugged in breadmaker, selected time, mixer will not come on. Tried unplugging and restarting. Beeps when you plug in and select light works. Will not mix ingredients.

If you want it to come on right away you need to not be using the timer at all. You need to select one of your bread programs, basic, whole wheat etc. and push start it will start kneading right away or after a few minutes if it detects the temp is too low.

My bread maker is the one with two paddles. I put the ingredients in, and I plug it in. The normal beeping sound comes on and when I set it, the paddles won't turn. I really would like to resolve this...

Have you tried waiting about 10 or 15 minutes after you push start? Some bread machines are very sophisticated and gently warm-up your ingredients for 5 or 10 minutes before they begin kneading.

Making regular white or whole wheat works fine but as soon as a recipe calls for flaked onion, garlic, dill etc. the loaf does not rise very much. Should threse ingredients be added later?

due to the general acidic properties of these ingredients, the living organisms in yeast may be partially killed off in these recipes. To increase the rise of these breads using a small amount of warm water to activate your yeast (place the yeast in a small dish and add a tablespoon or more of warm, not hot water), until it's a little foamy, helps. If the directions call for the ingredients to be added at a later time then I would follow those instructions, if not, and you're feeling a little adventurous, try adding those ingredients near the end of the 'resting' cycle of the bread maker, this allows the dough to rise before the yeast is submitted to the more acidic ingredients, and you would be adding them before baking again. If your bread maker does not mix again after the resting period this will not work though.
Yeast are little organisms that when revitalized, excrete gases into the dough, giving it little pockets of air, that when baked expand and allows for more even cooking and those little bubbles in your bread that make it fluffy and more tasty. Higher quality east are typically more resistant to acids, and the older the yeast is the lower the gaseous production is.

How long do I cook the bread

Place the ingredients into the bread machine, liquid first, then flour and dry ingredients, make a little pit in the top of the flour and put the yeast in there. Then start the machine. You add fruit and nuts later, usually there is a beep for adding things.
